Roseanne has always been one of my favorite shows. Definitely my favorite comedy sitcom.
I have all of the DVD season sets so far, up to seven.
I really like this show because all of the characters were great and very funny. Darlene was probably my favorite character, but she became really snobby towards the last two seasons.
"Inherit The Wind" is one of my favorite episodes, where Becky passed gas during a student council meeting.
It was always great to see Danielle Harris on the show as Molly Tilden, too. In the episode "Looking For Loans In All The Wrong Places" DJ and David are caught peeping at Molly through DJ's window. I sure would. ;)

Roseanne was definitely a great show. I like almost anything John Goodman is involved with. About Danielle Harris.... I didn't even recognize her as Molly back in the early 90s until her third episode! Then I was like, "Hang on a sec..."
I also liked how they made a joke out of the two Beckys in the later seasons. I liked Sarah Chalke a lot more than Lecy, but then again... I'm a Scrubs fan. :)

I loved Roseanne My fav had to be Darlene she was the funniest one of the show well her & jackie lol
my favorite was the maturbation episode.
Darlene: he's been in there a while. which means he's either really really good at it...or really really bad at it!

John Goodman owns this show.
But what a great cast, seriously. Your typical average people (kind of) living day to day life.
jackie was a great comic foil IMO

Loved the show, but I hated that Dan ended up dying, as he was the heart and soul of the show, in my opinion. The entire ending as a whole was just bizarre, and I'm still not so sure if I like it or not. I respect it for being so different, but it was somewhat unnecessarily depressing, too.

I don't even think about the final season. It went waaaay off track, and I didn't like anything about it.

Yeah, Dan was a great character. He didn't deserve that. John Goodman always steals the show in whatever he's in... he's just got a special charm and wit to him.
The last season was crap. It lost basically everything I liked and identified about it. I liked how they were a lower-middle class family, but that was ditched.

Roseanne is my second favorite comedy sitcom, right behind All In The Family.
The show started going downhill when Becky was replaced. And it really went downhill when Roseanne and her family won the $120 million dollar lottery, and Dan cheated on Roseanne. That just wasn't him.
Seasons 1 - 5 are the best of the bunch, in my opinion. God I loved Darlene.

I agree on that. After the fifth season the series began to show it's age. It was better when the kids were younger and all at home still.
Yeah, I love Darlene, too. Her wisecracks were always funny. I have always kind of had a crush on Sara Gilbert. :shy:
She also did great jobs in Sudie & Simpson and Poison Ivy.

But you see, the revelation in the last episode really fixes that. It's one of the things I really did like about the ending because I thought the last season was just way too strange. It being the fantasy of a grief-stricken Roseanne really works well.

Yeah.... but it sucks what they did to Dan. He never should have been killed off. I hate it when sitcoms get all dramatic and emotional for their final episodes. They seem to forget that they are supposed to be comedies. If I want depressing drama, I'll watch a Lifetime movie.

I like dramatic comedies. Hence my recent appreciation for Scrubs. The show knows how to get dramatic (the first episode I saw -- the one that got me hooked -- was My Lunch, it definitely wasn't all giggles).

Oh, I love Scrubs too. It and 30 Rock are my favorite shows on the air right now. A little drama every now and then isn't a bad thing and adds depth to the show, but I just don't like the overly-dramatic series finales. I sometimes want to say to them, "Yes... I know it's the end of the series, but please leave me laughing and not bummed out." What Roseanne did to Dan bummed me out.

Me too. But only because the episode where he had the heart attack decimated the FOX premiere of the Doctor Who TV Movie in the ratings, which wouldn't bother me so badly had Rosanne not retconned the outcome in the finale.
