What fangoria's have rare fr 13th things in them that the box set and the book Crystal Lake memories don't cover if any.I was told issue 62 has some rare coverage on Fr 13th part 6.

I was gonna make a thread fot this, but didn't for some reason. Glad there is one though.

I can't wait to get my 4 issues I won on eBay. I'm so looking forward to going through them. I need to look for that one....#62.....sounds cool.

The only F13 related Fangorias I have are #44 (A New Beginning with a Jason/Roy fold out) and one of FVJ. Not sure what would make them special as I don't know what's considered rare or unique.

A few of the issues are sold out, but you can still order several of the Fangos that featured Friday the 13th from the Fangoria website. Most are affordable, but a few are a little pricey.

I'll list the issue number, the focus of the article and the price:

06 - F13 $25
12 - F13 Part 2 sold out
13 - F13 Part 2 FX sold out
21 - F13 Part 3 $75
22 - F13 Part 3 FX $100
36 - The Final Chapter sold out
38 - retrospective/farewell $15
44 - Part V $25
45 - Part V FX $10
57 - Part VI $25
59 - Part VI FX and Thom Matthews $10
62 - F13 Salute $10
68 - Jason actors 1 $10
69 - Jason actors 2 $15
70 - TV Series $100
74 - Part VII $10
75 - Part VII JCB interview $10
83 - F13 Special Issue (Mancuso Jr, Manfredini, Women of Crystal Lake 1, F13 TV Series) $10
84 - Woman of Crystal Lake 2 $10
85 - Part VIII $10
86 - Part VIII Hodder diaries $10
125 - JGTH $10
126 - JGTH Dean Lorey and John LeMay interviews $10
127 - JGTH FX $10
130 - F13 Timeline $10
210 - Jason X $10
212 - Jim Isaac interview and BIG Friday the 13th retrospective on the original film $50
224 - Freddy vs Jason $10
225 - Freddy vs Jason Robert Englund interview $15

Also...

Bloody Best #9 - Frank Mancuso Jr. says farewell to F13
Jason Goes to Hell mag
Freddy vs Jason mag

I have all of these issues, and most are worth the prices Fango has listed. I can only assume #'s 21, 22, 70, and 212 are more expensive because they are running low.

I have the JGTH Fangoria special which had interviews with the cast and some of the crew, plus the various actors who played Jason and the leading ladies. I don't know how much is missing from "Crystal Lake Memories", but I'm assuming it's not a whole lot.

I have all the issues myself. Even the ones that are sold out like Part's 2 and 4 that are covered in those three issues that are sold out. That part 4 issue has been sold out a long time two. I remeber in 93 it was even sold out. I ended up getting it later from another place but wasn't real impressed. Must have been something else in that issue besides part 4 coverage that people really liked. If anybody is ever in Pittsburgh PA for any reason go to a comic book store there called Eides. I forget the name of the street but it is right over by Grey Hound bus depot and The Westin Hotel right under a train bridge. Can't miss it. It is a huge comic store. 3 floors. Basement is where the comics, magazines and collectables is at, ground floor is CD's, Cassetts, and Vinyle Records, and the second floor is DVD's, VHS, Books and a small porn section. I bought tons of Fangoria's there.:D I used to order all my Fangoria's with Friday The 13th featured in them but after discovering Eide's back in 98 curtosy of a hotel waiter who told me and my parents about it I have been getting all the issues of Fangoria there ever since. Plus the old Marvel Transformer Comics I collect which I managed to complete my collection and even got issue 1 there. There are tons of other good comics there two. They have everything. Didn't mean to get off topic but if you want to get just about any issue of Fangoria and some issues of there other mags like Gorezone and Toxic Horror they are there. Yeah I have been collecting Fangoria with Jason in them since I was 7. I will never forget when I was in 1st grade taking the last issue that covered Part 8 with Jason on the top left cover and all that. The teacher about croaked. I even told Kane Hodder about that one when I met him. He thought that was pretty funny. Especially since it was him as Jason on the cover.:jason:

While I would love to put up all the covers and articles from my Fango issues that covered the F13 films (in addition to the Halloween and Nightmare films), I doubt Fango would appreciate it seeing as it is copyrighted material that they continue to make a profit on. Their lawyers sure would though love it though!

the next Fangoria issue I want is for them to address the issue of there raging increase in price, and issue an apology!

Damn Skippy!
This is getting outrageous.

$8.99 for them to pump up PG-13 horror remakes and maybe 2 decent movies an issue that you've probably already read about on the web.

I get 30% off because I get it from my local comics shop through Diamond Publications. I am seriously thinking about dropping this magazine. The Internet is Killing it. They are now starting to be months behind. AIN'T it cool news and more specifically Bloody Disgusting, Dark Horizons, Dread central and Evil Dread are way ahead.

They also seem to ask the same questions for every movie they review or get a sneak peek at.

For example,
"Insert Director or Producer's name here," How do you expect this bloodless, talentless PG-13 crap fest to differ from the awesome, Innovative, one of a kind, great, original that did not need to be RE-MADE/ RE-IMAGINED anyway??
:duh:

I actually have every issue... The only thing that keeps me going is to be a completest. But the quality is waning greatly. But it may have more to do with the product being produced nowadays than the magazine itself.

Sure! I can't believe the guy actually had the time to transcribe some of the longer articles. One that may be of particular interest is the article for Friday the 13th Part 2. That one's from Fangoria #12, and that issue has been sold out for years.

CampNewBlood

I won that Fangoria #22 on eBay for $13.25 last night. It's the one that has Halloween III on the cover and Friday the 13th Part 3 effects inside. The seller actually had 3 copies of it and I got one.

It is still listed on Fangoria's Gore Store as being $100 if you buy it from them.

I was ecstatic when I got it! I also got one from the same seller that has 'V' on the front of it. :D

It was odd reading in my #83 issue, an interview with Frank Mancuso Jr. (producer at the time) where he was talking fondly about being involved with all the Friday films and how he mentioned it was a possibility of he and Paramount making 13 films. He said as long as they were profitable that they would continue to make them.

He also mentioned they had talked about doing a movie that pitted Jason against Freddy, but they could never get things together for it to happen. He went on to say, who knows....it may happen one day.

That's so cool reading that and knowing what we know now.

I'm still looking for the Variety issue wich had the first mention of Friday the 13th ever... It was a advertisement of the F13 3D logo smashing trough glass with the text "the scariest movie every made".
This was before a script had been written.

Could someone with Fangoria #130 be so kind as to scan (or, if that's not allowed, transcribe) the Ft13 timeline they have there? I think a website I found gave the dates they used, but I just wanted to see the original source to make sure. Any help would be appreciated. I'm constructing a hybrid NoES/Ft13 timeline so I can watch all the films in chronological order this Halloween.

Those are truly wonderful, Silver Shamrock. I do remember a Part VIII cover with a close-up of Jason's piss yellow mask. I had the Freddy vs. Jason collector's mag, but loaned it to a buddy to scan some of the images and never saw the thing again. I just bought it for the Nightmare film retrospect "Nightmare's Past" (the Friday one was incomplete as the brunt of the series was owned by Paramount). I'd give a testicle or three to own the 49th and 50th issues covering Freddy's Revenge, the Batman Returns special, and anything about Part V or VIII. It ain't asking much, is it?

I believe it was issue 36 that got me into Fangoria. It's got the Axel kill on the cover. A friend of mine told me about a magazine that he had seen at a bookstore with Friday the 13th on the cover, and knowing that I liked the movies, told me about it. I went to the store a couple of days later, and bought it. Read Fangoria up to around issue 150 when I pretty much lost interest.
Anyone know when the price went up, that was about the time I stopped buying it.
Shame I sold all my issues off years ago, be fun to flip thru them.

I have the official FvJ issue, and it was great. Strange story, a buddy of mine's friend was working at a grocery store and an old lady came in and said "Do any of you boys like dirty magazines?" Her husband had died and she just came to the store and gave a box full of his old porno mags to a kid I'm pretty sure was under 18 at the time. To the point, my friend ended up with the box and it had the official Jason Goes to Hell mag in it, without a cover though. He knew I loved the series so he gave it to me.
