This is a large (660 pages) collection published in 2000 by Cemetary Dance that consists of 22 short stories, over 30 "Favorite Halloween Memories," and several Halloween essays focusing on cultural and historic aspects of the holiday as well as its role in movies and literature. Contributing authors include Dean Koontz, Ray Bradbury, Peter Straub, Richard Laymon, Christopher Golden and Kim Newman among many others.
I discovered this book while browsing through Barnes and Noble a few years ago. I love Halloween and try to pick up as many books about it as I can. Along with Lesley Pratt Bannatyne's Halloween: An American Holiday, An American History, this is the best book about Halloween that I've ever read.
The hardcover edition of this book is out of print, but it can still be found in softcover, as can Bannatyne's book (which focuses strictly on history and contains no fiction).
