What scenes in Friday scared the heck out of you ? For me it was at the end of part 1 when Jason jumped out of the lake to pull Alice under.

Another for me is in part 3 when Chris has dream of Jason in the cabin in the window and then in the door way without his mask that still creeps me out.

That scene is very creepy.

Nothing much really disturbs me from the movies anymore, but there are some deaths that are still kind of hard to watch. These are Jack's in Part 1 (arrow through throat from under bed), Paul's in TFC (harpoon to groin, gets lifted, Jason shoots harpoon), and Jason himself in TFC (his head sliding down the machete with it through his eye...*shudder*). Eddie's strap around the head death in ANB is also pretty fucked up.

None of the films have ever scared me, but IMO the shrine sequence in Part 2 is probably the scariest scene of the series or at least definitely up there.

Also, The beginning of JTM when Suzy is crying and pleading for her life as Jason slowly lowers the spear down and kills her with it. I don't disturb easily and I've seen far more hardcore scenes of violence and torture in other films and have seen footage of real-life violence and deaths, but for some reason I just can't ever bring myself to watch that one scene. I always skip it every time I watch JTM :|

Although I love Part 2, I used to really hate it when it was generally accepted that Jason killed Muffin. Now that it's been confirmed and added to canon (by me, Jason) that Muffin did survive (Jeff and Sandra found something that was not Muffin), teamed up with Jason and devoured Paul while Jason pulled Ginny out the window, I'm okay with all of Part 2 now.

That scene was performed wonderfully by Tiffany Paulsen. It also makes me cringe a little.

The scene that disturbed me was the one where the kids are in the cabin asleep and Jason comes walking in there looking around and sees this little girl watching him and he walks over and she pretends to be asleep while he watches her before walking off.

It doesn't actually sicken me or anything, it's just highly unnerving to the point where it's hard to watch. I always skip it because it's so disturbing to watch.

Jason in JTM seemed almost like a torture killer in that film, with the way he not only killed Suzy but also Eva, Tamara, Wayne, the rapist gang member and the boxer in the sauna.

In part 1 - the scene where we can see the axe in Marcie's face and she's sliding down the wall and that specific music score is played... I sometimes turn away when it comes on.

In part 6 - the scene where Jason's neck snaps from the motorboat engine. Ugh!

I can't really say any of them do... I never saw anything from the series as really disturbing.

from part 3, when Chris opened the barn door after hanging Jason and seeing him right infront of the door "dead" and his eyes all of a sudden openjust creeps me out to think if that was me

in part 4, it doesn't creep me out, but I'm always a bit too ready when waiting for Jason to saw Axels throat

part 5 waking up while you're naked to see someone staring down at you again that would creep me out to think that was me

part 6 what's her face getting thrown about her room by Jason, I just felt so sorry for her

part 7, in the deleted kills (this only creeped me out because it's not something I'd expect to see in a Friday movie)the girl getting smashed to bits on the tree and the guy getting his head crushed down to having blood pour out of his eyes and mouth, I could have done without the blood pouring

part 8, Jason slowly but surley driving that arrow into the stomach of that girl in the boat just how long he took and she couldn't do anything about it

when I was a kid many things scared me- Jack's death, Jason coming out of the bed in 2, Jason in the window in 3, etc.

Now... nothing.

I hate to say it, but none of the Friday films have ever really scared me. I have, however, been creeped out a few times....

1. Jason in the upstairs window and side door without his mask at the end of Part 3.
2. The teaser trailer for Jason Lives.

In part 3 where she hangs him and then opens the barn door and he is right there that close still hanging and he opens his eyes.

I'm disturbed by quite a bit of the murders in JGTH, and particularly the cut death of the waitress' boyfriend... He's literally introduced, the waitress leaves with the baby, Jason appears, crushes his head into the sink, and he's dead... Like geez... what did he do?

Wheat, Muffin just ate Paul's head. Paul was discovered beheaded according to Blake's cut JX articles.

Jigsaw, were you aware that the sauna death was originally Jason stabbing his in the eyes with darts? This is why Jason is eyeballing a dartboard earlier in the film.

I read about that and also saw the publicity still of it.

She told me she ate all of him, but I always thought her claims were a little blown out of proportion. I'll have to have a talk with her later......

The tent bisection in JGTH was great, but I found it humorous not scary.

speaking of JGTH, I just realized that Blake gets a mention on the commentary when I was watching it the other day. very cool.

The ending from part 1.

Part 7 when Jason becomes unmasked.

Both of those scared the shit out of me as a child.

Just to clarify: this thread is to talk about moments in Friday the 13th that a) scared you in the past, and/or b) scare you now. We've merged the separate discussions into one thread. ~BT

In part 3, after Chris wakes up in the canoe, she looks up, and Jason is looking at the window at her. She starts to react, he smiles, she reacts, he claws at the window as if he can't wait to get out there to her, she reacts, he disappears, she reacts, he bursts through the door, she reacts, he smiles at her, she reacts, he starts running toward her...

That scene still gives me the chills. Its so creepy and unlike any other scene in all the films. It's daylight. Jason's unmasked and freakin' smiling. The girl can't go anywhere, and you see an anxiousness in Jason to get her.

Another scene I have trouble watching is the scene where Dr. Crews and Tina's Mom are running through the woods away from Jason. I can't stand watching Tina's Mom die. It's just too sad, and that asshole Crews basically caused it.

The ending in Part 1 shocked me the first couple of times when I watched the movie. But not really that scary...

When I was younger I also got freaked out by Jason's look(pillowhead), there is a scene after the kids have dinner and Terry is going for a walk when you can see Jason's shadow walking past the cabin... that freaked me out! Also when in daytime the kids walk trough the woods and Paul says "stay on this trail, there's a lot of poison ivy..." and we get a POV from Jason and we hear him breathe...

The ending Part 3 with Jason at the window is pretty scary, like someone said: if you look at Jason you can see how bad he wants her, and that fuckin' sick smile. Briljant!
Another thing from Part 3 is when he lifts his mask and you can see him smile after Chris says "it's you..!".

Nowdays these things don't scare me anymore, since I've seen the movies about 100 times.. but I remember being scared by some of those scenes. Ugh..

In part 2, when Vicki gets stabbed in the upstairs closet... all you see is Jason's hand, the handle of the knife, and that bruised fingernail.

As a teen, I couldn't watch that part, but today I find it's one of my favorite scenes.

For me, the already mmentioned sequence at the end of 3 with Jason clawing at the window. That whole sequence, including Pamela popping out of the water still creeps me out.

The other would nhave to be the sequence leading up to Paula's death in 6. Just the build up with the door open, the leaves blowing. Then Jason bursts through! Very well done scene!

Honestly the whole final fifteen minutes of part 2 creeps me out. But one part in particular gets me every time. it is when Ginny first goes into Jason's shack and she is kind of looking around and behind her is a window and you can see Jason in the background running towards it. That part creeps the hell out of me because it is just in the background, no real focus is on it you can just see him out there running.

I must agree. Background stuff always creeps me out. It almost seems like you're not "supposed" to see it.

I agree with you guys...

What I also found scary was when I watched Part 2 for the first time and the cop drives away from the camp and Jason crosed the road very fast... I was like "brrrr... wtf". It wasn't something you would expect.

Another one that got me was in JTM when they were getting off the ship and that one guy looks up and Jason is there just looming and looking over the side of the ship at them and when he looks again Jason is gone. My reaction is always where did he go?

Part 6 where she is telling that little girl everything is going to be ok if she prays and she stands up and Jason is standing there looking through the window and she didn't even notice.

How about the twin that slep with Jimbo's death scene. She was looking out the window and saw both bikes, after her sister supposedly already left. Who excpected Jason to be outside that window and crash through it like that?

Also, the very first time I ever saw Friday the 13th Part 3 when Rick was thrown through the window, that scared me. We are used to people going through windows. It happens in almost every Friday the 13th movie, but that one just seemed to happen with such force, while so many elemental things and suspense was going on, it just made me jump high as hell.

I dunno why, but when I first watched it, I found the scene where Jason is just staring at Tommy after rising from his grave in Jason Lives to be unneverving, how he just stands there and it looks like he has no eyes.

Plus, I guess this is sort of related, but the scene in the Wildstorm comics where the ghost kids are rising out of Crystal Lake creeped me out, I couldn't get that image out of my head all day after first seeing it.

Part 7 where Tina brings Jason out of the water through Telekenisis (sp) and Jason looks at her and she faints and he does nothing. If I were Tina when I woke up I would wonder why that guy didn't do anything when she was out cold and where is he now.

I have always found it creepy in part 2 when Ginny and Paul are in the dark cabin at the end of the movie and Ginny starts yelling out that there's someone else in the room. I just watched this movie again recently and still found this scene to be pretty scary.

To be honest, the only times these movies scared me were when I was just a youngling. Jason gave me nightmares. Now, I don't find them scary anymore. The closest I've come to being scared by one is from the opening of JGTH. Up until he gets blown to shit.

I'm surprise no one mention what I consider disturbing: Mark's death in part 2. Having a guy in a wheelchair get a machete to his face & then having the wheelchair falling down a long stair along with the rain pouring, along with lighting in the dark is very creepy. Quite a hellish scene I ever seen in a F13th film.

Another good one is Chris's dream where she see Jason again in her dream. Brooker's makeup along with his smile is freaky.

I posted this as part of an argument in another thread, but it fits well here, too. I still think the scariest sequence in the entire series is when Jason chases Trish out of the Jarvis house back over to the teens' house (and yes, he's running the WHOLE time). Once inside, having to hop over the twin's dead body to get there, she stops and looks back in disbelief and he's just standing there in the doorway, then takes two steps, then sprints up the stairs after her. She's absolutely hysterical at this point, with the crying and the labored breathing/screeching sound, but he charges her again and she jumps out the window to get away. It's just absolutely relentless and unnerving.

The relentlessness reminds me of the chase scene between Sally and Leatherface in the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." She screaming the whole time he's running after her, but all you can hear is the saw. Freaks me out every time.

Excellent choice, sambob. The part that creeps me out most about that scene is that Jason is really, really close to getting Trish on the steps... so close, in fact, she kind of has to avoid his grasp at the top of the stairs.

I thought I mentioned this earlier in the thread, but I didn't. I find it creepy when Ned is walking by himself whistling, and he (and we) see someone on a cabin porch, and that someone just turns and walks into the cabin. If I had been Ned, I would have ran the other way faster than I've even ran before. It was just creepy.

I find Gibb's cigarette bouncing off Jason's face with a music stinger in FvsJ a very effective jump-scare. I remember jumping and making a noise, and then turning to my friend and laughing about how lame my jumping and making a noise was, but she did it, too, as did a lot of people in the theatre, so it was okay.

For some reason I always feel uneasy watching Part 2 when Jason slowly creeps up behind Mark before he gets the machete in the face. The thunder and lightning adds to it.
