Hi, and welcome to the forums. The name of the song is "Sail Away, Tiny Sparrow" and it was never released. It was created by the music producer, Harry Manfredini exclusively for the film.

I don't know if you know this or not, but song at the end of the film is the instrumental version of it.

Welcome to the board, dude. That song was awesome. So awesome they had to play it twice! :p

So who's gonna merge this with the Friday the 13th thread and explain to this fine fellow the rules? :D

Wow, I figured it was some country song. I didn't know Harry made that song.

No, I'm afraid it's not. I don't even think it's a full song, just a couple of lines of music that was sung.

It was probably a short song/demo thing. Wich was perfect for those scenes.

I guess it must have been a big hit in Crystal Lake back in the 1980's. ;)

It's what is known as source music. Source music is music created for a film that does not wish to use a more established song or cannot afford to create one. Sometimes it is used as a temporary song until a different one is used. When a composer isn't sure what, if any music will be heard during a scene, they create a fake song to fill the gap. In the first film, Harry created the banjo music for the drive to Crystal Lake and modified "Sail Away, Tiny Sparrow" from the end credits into a country song for the dinner scenes. In the third film, the disco theme was heard in the mini-mart where Shelly and Vera meet the bikers. Starting with the fifth film, we had original songs created for such sequences. Such as "His Eyes", "Teenage Frankenstien" and "The Man Behind The Mask".

Well technically "Love is a Lie" was an original song in The Final Chapter, albeit from a lesser known group.

Anyone know that song or who performed it? The song when Annie walks into the diner in the morning before she gets the ride, it was playing on the radio. Thanks guys ;)
ADDED:
alright, that was fast! something about that song i like - maybe it just reminds me of the movie or growing up with grandparents running a county fairgrounds (with a lake) and going to diners in the morning.
