Honesty, there's no way of knowing. It's such a crapshoot, and the only way to know is to have someone go look.

In their vaults? Nothing. I think all of the cut footage is either in VHS form in a dusty box in an attic of a producer, director or the SFX team. I have heard from 2 directors (Steinmann and Beuchler) that Paramount did not receive any cut footage and nothing was kept from their films. I am sure the same applies to the rest.
I've always wondered if there were any major major Paramount era cut scenes outside of the X-Rated Death Scenes. Only ones I know of are a few extended/alternate endings.

Id love to go in those vaults.Anyoneknow if any of sfx, producers are on the documentary that could have some cut/deleted footage?

I'd say if any movie cut footage were still in the vaults, or in someone's possessions it would be Part 2 and 4. In CLM they said a member of the SFX team had an uncut video of Part 2, he was showing the Sandra/Jeff death to everyone. We know cut footage exists for Jason Lives and The NEw Blood, I think solely because McLaughlin and Beuchler respectively had copies and not because Paramount ha it.

Hey Scabboy do u know if McLauglin still has the x rated print and everything else that was cut not on the box set?
sCabbOy
09-19-2008, 12:20 AM
I personally don't know, but I assume the shots shown on the box set was Mclaughlan's. I also assume those were the X rated scenes, seeing the R rated ones made it to the movie and the PG13 perhaps in a TV version.

Didn't McLaughlin say an X-rated version of the kill scenes existed in JL? I remember reading that you could see the paintballers having their heads loped off of their shoulders, blood shooting out of Cort's temple after he gets the knife jabbed into it, Darren sliding down the spear and his innards visible, etc. we don't see this on the uncut footage, so I would assume McLaughlin has the R-rated version of these scenes but not the X-rated.

Some of those scenes are on the boxset extras... the paintballers, COurt's death for sure...

They aren't the explicit versions that were talked about, though.
The truth is we really don't know. We know the uncut version of the original exists as Warner has released it over seas years ago. We know the uncut version of Part 7 exists (in the same fashion that the P-Cut of Halloween 6). Paramount says they threw away what they did not use, but we will never actually know.

Even if some unused or deleted footage was discarded by the studio, there's always the chance that a director, producer, actor, editor, special effect person, etc. may have kept some of the footage that was shot.

How many sfx, directors, and producers have been interviewed so far for the Doc?Hopefully they will have plenty of footage.?

Well, from Steinmann and Beuchler's own mouths (check out the DeadPit.com interviews) the footage cut was never kept in NEGATIVE form. It was discarded and they saw it discarded with their own eyes. However, there were prints made of the films uncut, cut a little, cut a little, cut a little more, etc that were submitted to the MPAA. Those will be the only versions available and we have seen them with Beuchler's work print and the V2 of A NEw Beginning.
I am sure maybe a scene or two will show up some day, but I highly doubt the entire cut scenes. Hell, according to Steinmann he was filming a death scene and they quit in the middle because he knew it would be cut.
ADDED:
Here's copies of the negatives to some cut scenes... I own one set, the others were bid sniped fom me.

No, it is a 11x18? glossy photo... it's called negativ3e contact sheets... they put negatives on it and develop it I think? BUT I think they re from the 35mm film/video negatives.

Today I was cleaning the little storage room in my house, with that are some 'remains' of my F13 and horror collection. There was one box of tapes(about 20-30) wich I got sometime ago from a guy that used to do business in the bootleg market. Many tapes are unlabeled, and the rest are weird foreign horror/sci-fi movies.
I never checked this box, since my vhs player isn't hooked up.
Funny thing is, one tape had "Friday 13th 4 work print" written on it... now this could probably be the tv version, but you may never know.... and i'm curious as hell, now I'll have to dig up my vhs player to check this out.

If it's a nice version of the TV version I'd like a copy ;)
I know someone on eBay like 4-5 years back was selling a box set of 1-5 workprints. He claimed that all of them contained alternate angles in some scenes, dialog and so on... but I sincerely doubt that
Lammert
11-23-2008, 10:06 PM
Yeah, the word "workprint" is used in a wrong way most of the time.
Part 4, 5 and 6 all have TV versions and NOT workprints. The only workprint that was leaked is the JGTH one.
I also saw a raw cut of Jason X without most of the CGI and music. It had a few little differences(one was a scene showing the body of the lab guy, who gets electrocuted), but nothing spectacular.

Yeah, who knows if the fully uncut footage even exists amymore, but I'd settle for at least partially uncut stuff. Hell, even if it was only a couple death scenes extended a bit, it would be worth it.

You are right, they are all TV versions.
One of the SFX team members of Part II had the uncut movie at one time. It was mentioned in CLM how he was showing it to everyone, bragging about the gory deaths and such.
I don't see Miner's mother throwing his film out, although it is possible I am sure that knowing he is a film maker and seeing FILM in a canister, she'd be intelligent enough not to.
It was thrown away by Miner if anyone.

I got the getaway car ready. :shifty:
PS, if memory serves me, there was an alternate open to Part 3, correct?
Well, obviously they have the original since they are releasing it. I think they have more then they say they do, it just take a lot of money to restore and re-enter footage and they probably don't think they will sell enough copies of the film(s) to justify investment of time and money.
But then there was always the official bootleg edition of Amry of Darkness, and if Anchor Bay did that for that movie, Paramount could do it for movies that are even more popular.

I think if they had more stuff they would do something about it. if they do not want to invest the money they know they can catalog it out to someone like Lionsgate, get paid, have them restore it, release it and get royalties. That's exactly what they did with My Bloody Valentine.

I wish some day i could find a tv version of part 6.
I own it, i'll add the footage to my youtube page soon.
This Part 4 was another tv version. Not all of these tv scenes are featured on the F13 boxset, so I'm going to make a compilation and add those scenes to my youtube page.
There are no TV scenes for Part 1, 2 or 3.
I own a lot of different versions of Part1, the only thing thats different about those are the uncut deaths, some sound effects and a different credit opening.

I bought an old VHS copy of Friday the 13th Part 2 at a thrift store in Italy this past summer. I just thought it would be a cool addition to my collection. Anyway, the running time is listed at 91 minutes, which is about 10 or so minutes longer than the US version.
I'm unable to watch it because I dont have a working VCR, but I'm sure its just a typo or something.
But hey, maybe I have an uncut alternate version of Part 2 currently sitting on my dresser.....hey, I can always dream......

Thanks for posting it, Lammert. Its good to finally see all of the scenes. I'm glad they were left out of the final film though. They were pretty pointless and had some crappy acting. They would have just slowed the movie down. Rob having that tracking device to find Jason was pretty ridiculous IMO.

Going to upload the uncut Sheriff Garris death later on, but the quality is a real mess.
They have the uncut sheriff death in the box set on the killer extras disc. Is the particular version of the scene you have any different then the in film version or the version on the extras disc?

It's a very slight difference. At first I didn't notice a difference until I ran it side by side with the theatrical cut. Its one of those "blink and you'll miss it" type of alternate footage. Those two scenes are really the only different things presented in that bootleg (be it TV version or workprint or whatever you want to call it).

Is there any additional tv scenes for part7,8 ?

Uncut F13th's that exist
Part 1 WB region 2 release
Part 2 Steve Miner states on pg 78 of making of F13th book a version was filmed uncut.
Part 3 ?
Part 4 between the TV scenes and what Lammert posted i guess this footage exist.
Part 5 Version 2
Part 6 Xrated cut
Part 7 uncut shown on box set
Part 8 ?
Part 9 Workprint,tv scenes unrated cut
part 10 Workprint ?
So to me i like to think theres hope, part 3 and part 8 we might be out of luck.

The alternate F13 3 on that site is NOT an alternate version. I got that disc from him via a trade and have compared it to the theatrical cut. There are no differences. The guy who runs the site even admitted he had not watched the bootleg and just used the info the person he got the bootleg from provided.
