How can we be without this thread? I don't think anyone can really deny that Pantera owned the 90s by the BALLS! I just love how much of a FUCK YOU they were to everything and everyone. Lived by their own rules, and compromised nothing! Simply said, "I'm Broken" remains to be the most RAW and fucking BRUTAL track I've ever heard. So goddamn hardcore! Their final album, Reinventing The Steel could not have been anymore metal, or anymore of a dead-on-the-mark representation of Pantera at their most extreme heaviness!

Unfortunately, I only got to see them once. It was OzzFest 2000 following Godsmack, and I barely knew more than one or two songs. I had only purchased Cowboys From Hell days before. Still, they were the most bad ass shit ever. Maybe only topped by Slayer & Judas Priest at OzzFest 2005. But whatever the case, Pantera were Kings of Metal.

When Dimebag died, it really did honestly effect me, and I paid tribute however I could. I can't watch that VH1 Behind The Music without breaking into tears, seriously. It makes me realize what it might've been like when Cliff Burton died in 1986. I really have chosen not to take any sides or make accusations regarding Phil Anselmo, but I know it's never going to be resolved. Somethings are just too difficult to be overcome.

But whatever the case, show your appreciation for a metal band that kicked everyone in the balls right when we needed it!
