I've heard that Katie Cassidy is going to be on season 3....can anyone confirm that? Is she going to be Sam's "girlfriend" or something...?
Well...I love this show....can't wait to watch season 3! :)

Jeans - You won't be disappointed. This is definitely one of the best shows out there right now. My girlfriend watches because Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are eye-candy. I watch because the show kicks my ass! I got my roommate hooked on this show and we went out and bought the first season. I do believe the second season comes out on September 11. Since Smallville and Supernatural have started seasons on the same day, I would assume that along with Smallville, the season 3 premiere will be on Sept. 27th.
As far as spoilers for this show go... I have not heard anything yet, but I'll be posting as Thursday's double feature is my Favorite night of television :D

Here ya go baby doll! From TV Guide.com
Katie Cassidy signed on for new season of Supernatural.
Katie Cassidy — the 20-year-old daughter of '70s teen idol David Cassidy — has been tapped to play Ruby, a fellow demon hunter that Sam and Dean meet in the show's third-season premiere. In the casting breakdown, the character is described as "sexy, brutal and ruthless."
Cassidy's previous credits include the features Click, When a Stranger Calls, and Black Christmas and recurring roles on 7th Heaven and Sex, Love and Secrets. She has also signed on to play Lucy Ewing in the long-in-the-works Dallas pic.

I avoided this show at first, because I thought it looked like a lot
of other WB/CW shows. (overly attractive cast, crappy plots)
But, I'm glad I gave it a chance, it is actually a lot of fun.

The news about Katie Cassidy is interesting, especially given my recent complaining about the show's apparent lack of strong female leads. I mean I know there are female characters, but the Brothers are the leads, they're the two who carry the show, and I thought it odd there wasn't a full-time female cast member. I wonder if Cassidy will join on full-time, or if she'll pop in and out of the show (a bit like Faith in the third season of Buffy, which I'm also watching right now).

Okay gang,
Been thinking about getting the first season on DVD to see what the fuss is about.
Is it worth it? I usually can watch anything, but I am leery of CW/ WB shows.
I'm not expecting it to be the next Millennium (big fan as you can tell by the avatar), but just to be entertained.
So, before I shell out the $$$, can someone give me a general rundown of what its like without spoiling it?
I honestly never even checked out the old thread and now about 5 different people from work are telling me how good it is, but won't tell me anything but to watch it.
Thanks

It is my favorite CW show, I even enjoy it more than Smallville.
I was a little leery about it at first, because it is on CW but it is great.
It isn't as dark as Millennium or even the X-files, but it isn't fluff.

There are never enough female leads. The more, the merrier.
Besides, the female leads in the shows I watch tend to be regular people -- it's time we got one that can kick the crap out of a demon or twelve. :shy:
I prefer the setup in Doctor Who -- a male lead (the Doctor) and his companion (generally a female). Sure, they'll add another male to the mix from time to time, but mostly it's just the Doctor and his lady friend traveling through time and space, fighting all sorts of creatures.
So yeah, the more strong female leads, the better! :shy:

Like X-files, most of the episodes are serious, but there are tons of funny moments.
Like the guy who thought a shapeshifter was a "mandroid" because it had "laser eyes".
I also laugh when they interviewed the guy who claimed he was an alien abductee,
and he told them the alien anal probed him "again and again and again and again and again and again and then one more time",
and then afterword the alien made him slow dance.
Good stuff.
Anyway, season three will premier October 4th. Be there.

Yeah the one episode called "The Usual Suspects" when Sam and Dean were arrested due to Dean still being wanted for the murders the "Shapshifting" Dean commited, the sheriff was played by Linda Blair from the Exorcist movie. I still laugh at the end of the episodes dialogue
D - "You hungry?"
S - "Yeah."
D - "Good, because I could really go for some pea soup."
And the nod to the X-Files in this episode was funny to.
D - "What do you think, Scully, want to check it out?"
S - "I’m not Scully, you’re Scully."
D - "No, I’m Mulder. You’re a red-headed woman."
And from TV.Com here are the plots of the first two episodes of Season 3. Nothing is really spoiled so I'll leave out the tags.
Episode 3.1 - "The Magnificent Seven" - Seven demons, based on the Seven Deadly Sins, are released into the world and the brothers must combat them with the aid of a married Hunter couple.
Episode 3.2 - "The Kids Are Alright" - Sam & Dean track down changlings that are pursuing mothers and their children. A boy they protect bears a strange resemblance to Dean, which at first makes Dean uncomfortable because he once had a one-night stand with the boy's mother Lisa.

I know Wiki isn't the most reliable source, but I remember seeing these episode sypnosises somewhere else, so I do believe they're legit. For those of you who want to be HUGELY spoiled, supernatural.tv has the full episode detail on their site. Personally, I tend to avoid those, because I don't want to be spoiled that much. Anyway, here's the sypnosis for the first 4 episodes:
3.01 "The Magnificent Seven" - Seven demons, based on the Seven Deadly Sins, are released into the world and the brothers must combat them with the aid of a married Hunter couple.
3.02 "The Kids Are Alright" - Sam and Dean track down changelings that are pursuing mothers and their children. A boy they protect bears a strange resemblance to Dean, which at first makes Dean uncomfortable because he once had a one-night stand with the boy's mother Lisa.
3.03 "Bad Day At Black Rock" - Word continues to spread of the Winchesters and the opening of a devil's gate, with them to blame. Gordon's instincts may condemn Sam, Sam is kidnapped by a mentee of fellow hunter who admires Gordon and brutally beaten. He swears that his past supernatural abilities are gone, but is ignored. While looking for Sam, Dean spars with a thief and, luckily, gains the upper hand - for now.
3.04 "Sin City" - The brothers investigate the death of a man who commited suicide in a church. However, Sam is forced to team up with an unexpected ally when Dean disappears with a female demon who is interested in him personally

Well I finally got done with my Supernatural marathon and man was it fun. I'll post some thoughts after these little comments :
Like X-files, most of the episodes are serious, but there are tons of funny moments.
Like the guy who thought a shapeshifter was a "mandroid" because it had "laser eyes".
I also laugh when they interviewed the guy who claimed he was an alien abductee,
and he told them the alien anal probed him "again and again and again and again and again and again and then one more time",
and then afterword the alien made him slow dance.
Good stuff.
That alien part was hilarious. Don't forget some of Dean's funny lines like :
"Let's go to Hollywood and see if we can bang Lindsy Lohan"
Dean = Los Angeles, California
Sam = What's in L.A?
Dean = A young girl has been kidnapped by an evil cult.
Sam = Yeah... girl got a name?
Dean = Katie Holmes
Dean = Myspace, what the hell is that?
Sam = ...
Dean = Seriously is that like some sort of porn site?
Or when Dean was talking about hellhounds :
" I bet they could hump the crap out of your leg. "
But my all time favorite line comes from Andy in the All Hell Breaks Loose part one episode :
"I can put thoughts into peoples heads, like make them do stuff.
But don't worry I don't think it works on you guys.
Oh but get this, um, I've been practicing. Training my brain, like meditation.
Right. So now it's not just thoughts I can beam out, but images too.
Like anything I want... it's like BAM people they see it.
This one guy I know, total dick, (laughs) I use it on him.
Gay porn all hours of the day. (laughs)
You should've seen the look on his face."
I laughed my ass off on that one.
okay... so the first ep of the season sounds PHEONOMINAL!!!! I am SO freakin glad this show continued, and with the possibility of Smallville ending this season, and the only NON reality shows that will possibly survive this season being Gossip Girl and The OC, I think that this show will thrive on. However, I have to wonder how Dean will escape the deal he made with the demon. I cannot believe he was stupid enough to have done that!
About Dean I hated the fact that he had to sacrafice himself. But I'm sure he'll get out of it some way.
And now my comments on both seasons. I have to agree with girlychaos, season 1 is better than season 2. The legends/ghost in season 1 were great and I prefer them over the ones in season 2. I mean phantom hitch hiker, wendigo, Bloody Mary, Hook Man, Indian graveyard, haunted mental asylum, scarecrow, and crazy rednecks... man you just can't beat that. Plus season 1 really knew how to end a season. I loved that ending.
I did enjoyed season 2 though. It's the season where you get to see some of Jensen Ackles real acting talent. I've enjoyed his acting since Dark Angel, but his acting ability really shines in the last three episodes of season 2 of Supernatural. I prefer his character over Sam. Sometimes Sam can be a little too whiney and touchy feely (always wanting to express his feelings and get Dean to open up).
But season 2 did have some great episodes. Like the Everybody Loves a Clown episode was great. That clown was creepy. And on the special features that said it came from reports from Boston in the 70's of kids saying that clowns in vans were trying to pick them up and that some kids got in and the van and kid disappeared. Apparently it was a big scare back then of phantom clowns abducting kids. They said the police investigated, but found no evidence of any clowns.
And I enjoyed the last few episodes as well.
And listening to the commentary I'm glad they decided to kill off the kids with superpowers. They said their plan was originally going to have them in a few more seasons, but they felt it was getting corny so they decided to just kill them all off. And I completely agree with that. I was waiting for the series to get back to some demon/ghost killing. But one thing I didn't like was when they burned down the road house. They said they thought it was too fake that a bunch of hunters would meet up at one location before going on hunts. So they were happy when they finally decided to burn the sucker to the ground.
I have to agree with James, this show needs a female lead or a female character that reoccurs throughout the season. I mean how many times are these guys going to fall for someone. SPOILERS FOR DEANS AND SAMS LOVE LIFE Sam had feelings for Lori Sorenson (preachers daughter), never saw her again. Dean's in love with Cassie (girl from Route 666 episode)... never saw her again. Sam falls for Sarah Blake (girl from Provenance episode)... never saw her again. And Sam fell for Madison (girl from Heart episode)... never saw her again. It would be nice if one girl would be in more than one episode.
Don't get me wrong they've had some decent female characters like Meg, Jo and Ava that appeared in more than one episode, but they weren't used enough either in my opinion. I hope in season 3 we get to see more of Jo, that was a good character. She could end up being a good hunter.
I like how a lot of the episodes take place where I live (Indiana).
Also I love how they used actors from my favorite 2 shows - Buffy and Angel. They used Amy Acker (Fred from Angel) in the Dead in the Water episode, Amber Benson (Tara from Buffy) in the Bloodlust episode, and Julie Benz (Darla from Angel) in the Faith episode. It's nice to see some familar faces.
Overall this is one of my favorite shows. It has great stories almost every episode. Plus the brothers contrasting personalitles work well off of each other. And it also blends humor into the horror very well. I can't wait till season 3.
I'm glad I gave this show a chance and I hope it last for many years. So hopefully CW doesn't cancel it anytime soon.
Take care and God bless.

Another part of the show I really enjoy is the music. Everytime they are in the car driving and Dean turns on the radio, man those songs fit the show pretty good.
Oh and on the recap part before every episode the music usually fits what's going on pretty well. But it fits perfect on one episode... on the recap before All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2 When they show Sam die and Dean crying, they played "Carry On My Wayward Son" by Kansas and the lyrics fit that recap perfect :
"Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more"

They only have 2 episodes showing on the website. I think I remember checking out the 3rd season episode listing, and what was shown as the first 2 episodes is what was showing in the now playing window or w/e it's called. Where you watch the videos online, basically.

So this last Thursday's episode took place in Cicero Indiana - Which is literally 15 minutes or LESS from me. I nearly pissed myself. It was awesome!
Does anyone know if they film on location? (Not in the exact town but in the state.) There was a housing complex that looked like it was in the Indianapolis area instead of where this episode took place.
On a different note, this episode ROCKED! The first one was great too! I love most of these episodes anyway.
Does anyone know if they film on location? (Not in the exact town but in the state.) There was a housing complex that looked like it was in the Indianapolis area instead of where this episode took place.
Seems it's all filmed around British Columbia.
They've even filmed at Buntzen Lake, which was Crystal Lake in FvsJ. Given that,
Wonder if they'll actually get a Jason actor to play Jason.
If they do (I doubt they will), I think Kirzinger would have the best shot.
ADDED:
On the SuperheroHype board's Supernatural thread (http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=280581&page=5), a poster who seems to be in the know said that this is the set-up for getting Jason involved -
This episode deals with Bobby's nightmares and Sam and Dean somehow entering his nightmares. Thus this is Jason in Bobby's mind, only real in Bobby's mind and is most likely not the main supernatural entity. Similar to how a Leatherface showed up last year in 'Tall Tales'. I am more or less positive that the presence of this character is meant to show the nightmares that horror films and shows produce. Thus the reason for going with a horror movie icon.
Well, if that's all there is they should have went with you know who....

Here's a bit about Jason -- it turns out it's official. They've cleared the rights and all. Jason Voorhees will be in Supernatural.
Jason Voorhees Gets Supernatural Oct. 15, 2007
What happens when you take a malevolent horror icon and throw him into a television show on the CW network? No, you don't get SCOOBY DOO! AND THE LEGEND OF THE VAMPIRE, but you get SUPERNATURAL, featuring Jason Voorhees.
You heard me right, the show, starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, about two brothers who seek out and combat paranormal and supernatural events will come face to face with Jason Voorhees in episode 10 of the new season.
"We have Jason from Friday the 13th, the character with the hockey mask," show creator Eric Kripke tells the "Supernatural" fanzine. "He shows up in episode 10. We have cleared the rights to actually use Jason. We have a twist on it so it is not really Jason out there but we have found an interesting way to bring him in so Sam and Dean fight Jason from Friday the 13th. In our world, that is a pretty cool guest star."
These guys love the genre. First the Cybermen turn up in season 2, and now Jason in season 3. Sweet.
Well, if that's all there is they should have went with you know who....
That's what I thought, too.
I hope Jason has a substantial role in the episode, not just a quick cameo.

So Girly, as you know I rented Supernatural Season one and so far I've only watched 2 episodes and a little bit of the third episode. So far I wish they would find their dad already. That is kind of annoying. But I really like the special effects. I think they are ace especially for a non-pay TV show. I mentioned that I saw a little bit of the 3rd episode. What I saw I did not like but I have to admit I wasn't paying 100% attention to it. So far it's ok but I will not pass judgement on the series until I see some more episodes. I hate "biting my nails", so to speak, whenever they are flashing their IDs. I always have this feeling they are going to get busted, even though there's a good chance they won't. (Or else how would they get to 22 or so episodes, right?)
Also, on another note, will someone please tell me if they will ever find their dad? Don't tell me any plot details, just whether or not they do find him.

Wow, that would be cool if it's true. I would like to see Kane do his thing again, even if it's on the small screen.
Don't they shoot supernatural in Vancouver, B.C.?
Ken Kerzinger has been in the show as a redneck character already and has probably done stunt work for them too. I'd say it's more likely they'll use him or another stuntman over Kane just because of their shooting location and familiarity with the production.
Of course if the producers know Kane's past with the character they may go with him simply to please fans.

So far, from what I've read about the tenth episode, it really doesn't have that much of Jason in it. That's a sad chain of events too. I don't understand whole-heartedly why you wouldn't use a character like this through out your whole entire show instead of just a temp character from what I've read, only 10 minutes of the show.

Well ,if the writers do go on strike as they been saying they will this Thursday. Maybe the studios could just pull a Ronald Reagan and fire the whole lot.:ballshot: Its not like Hollywood doesn't need a house cleaning anyway, and that there's a lack of hungry talent out there waiting for a shot. I doubt that will happen but I have to say I'd be very P.O.ed:mad: if this strike causes this show to get shitcanned. Accordind to USA Today last week(I believe) it stated that TV shows shouldn't be effected until Next Season
Heroes has already halted production, and episode 11 is being fashioned into an impromptu season finale should the strike not get worked out. I'm sure Supernatural, Smallville, Reaper, Pushing Daisies, Life, Lost -- they'll all be affected.
Check out the article in the "Writer's Strike" thread that's sticked at the top of the TV forum. The 2007/2008 television season is circling the drain.

Yep, I saw that one a couple of days ago. It was pretty good. I can't believe their dad is hiding from them.
And I saw the one after that one. I think it was about Dean fighting a ghost and he had a heart attack. And then they had to go see a priest to help him. I like all the episodes but I thought that one wasn't all that great. Only because I don't like to see them put in such a tough situation.

Gosh I'd love to be able to watch Season One for the first time (again, which is impossible, lol) so...enjoy! :D
The episode I told you about is the 16th. Take your time cause there are some great ones before that.
I wouldn't go that far, I mean...I did like Season One better, but it doesn't mean Season Two isn't good. It's just different...if I had to choose, I'd go with the first one. I think Girly is right on the money with this one. I preferred Season One to Season Two. Like I said before :

BD gave us a very bad news regarding jason on supernatural
I hate to be the buzz kill on the Jason Voorhees parade, but we've been informed that the horror icon will NOT be making an appearance in Episode 10 of WB's TV show Supernatural, like previously reported on other sites a few weeks ago. Our regular tipster informed us that he heard (on the picket lines, yeah!) that this special occasion will not happen because of rights issues. I guess you're going to have to wait until February 13, 2009 for your Jason fix when the remake to <>Friday the 13th hits theaters.
so sorry about it
Jason is cursed with rights issues, all because Sean Cunningham sold his soul to the devil back in 79. Never sign away your rights to investors, just agree to give them a return on their money and then tell them to piss off.

ADDED:
A little clarification (http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=3740)
Supernatural Writer on Friday the 13th Episode
Source: ShockTillYouDrop.com
Eric Kripke had Jason Voorhees fans frothing at the mouth by alluding to a possible "Friday the 13th" cameo in episode ten of the third season of "Supernatural." But what is the truth?
If you read closely (here (http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=1603) is the original story), show runner Kripke was awfully cryptic about the matter. The quote, "We have a twist on it so it is not really Jason out there", should have tempered any outright enthusiasm over the prospect that Voorhees would rise on the small screen.
Nevertheless, we sought clarification on the matter and spoke to John Shiban, "Supernatural" executive producer and contributing writer. So, will the Winchester brothers tussle with Jason? Shiban says with a smile, "That would be cool. I don't think I'm giving anything away when I say it's an episode about dreams and the dreamscape, so you face your nightmares. You'll have to see how we work it in."
He adds that obvious rights clearance issues prevented them from using the character, however, as Kripke stated before there will be "a character in a hockey mask. He may not legally be identified as Jason, but the "Supernatural" team hopes fans will get the drift.
there will be "a character in a hockey mask. He may not legally be identified as Jason, but the "Supernatural" team hopes fans will get the drift
I hope they use a mask that looks like Jason's though. I hope they don't go and use a shitty looking mask like the one used in Bloody Murder.
They won't be able to legally use that Hockey Mask design, because if you can recall New Line shutdown the mask makers because they believe it infringed on their copyright, the Supernatural folks will no doubt use a generic mask to avoid the legal ramifications.
New Line shutdown the mask makers because they believe it infringed on their copyright
Mask makers to what? What are you talking about? Who did they shut down?
The guys who used to make and paint the hocks back on the old boards, a number of them were sent cease and desist letters from New Line's legal reps because of one person's greed/jealousy/envy or whatever it was. The point is, they are aware of the mask design they have a legal claim to and the Supernatural producers aren't gonna chance showing their "Vague Jason" character with an actual screen accurate mask.
So I wonder how the story is going to go now.
"There has been a disturbance at Dimond Lake!"
"Do you think it is him?"
"Do you think Jake Vornes is back?"
The episode is totally going to suck now.
I doubt they'll discuss him like that. They don't go after "the hockey masked character", he shows up in someone's nightmare sequence.
Oh, that's crap then. I thought they were actually going to go to Camp Crystal Lake and all hell breaks loose. That is going to be crap then. And to think, I got all excited over nothing.

Having Jason in the show would have been cool but how much sense did it make for New Line to loan out the character to a TV show when they are just about to restart and reinvent the character?
how much sense did it make for New Line to loan out the character to a TV show when they are just about to restart and reinvent the character?
I think it would have made a lot of sense. It is exposure. Jason X was simply made to re-introduce the public to Jason's character before FVJ, and this episode could have done that to ready people up for the remake.

While I'm a bit bumbed over Ma Voorhees' favorite son not showing up,damn lawyers, I'm past it. But I have another question for you other Winchester fans out there regarding a dangling plot thread from Season 2. Now I did miss an episode or two due to crappy reception. so I might've missed it. In the episode "Croatoan" ,Sam and Dean, go to a small Washington neighborhood ifected by a virus of demonic origin. The infection makes people crazy, superhumanly strong, and give them the desire to infect others with it through exchanging blood. Trapped in a doctor's office with a handfull of uninfected, it's discovered due to an attempt by one of the infected to pass it on to Sam, that he's immune to it. Then it's discovered, everyone in the neighborhood has disappeared. Finallly in the end, as the sheriff and one of the other survivors leaving town, the other bloke slits the sheriff's throat, and uses the man's blood to communicate to his master(yellow eyes presumably(sp?)). He tell him the test was successful, and they were ready for the next step to thier plan. I thought this was going to be followed up in the season finale, but wasn't. So is Kripke and Co. planning to follow this up or what ?

One, I don't remember what season "Croatoan" was, but if they were indeed talking to Yellow Eyes at the end it had to be during season 2 because at the end of season 2, Daddy Winchester destroys Yellow Eyes.

Quote by The Tall Man:
because at the end of Season 2Daddy Winchester destroys Yellow Eyes.
Actually Tall Man, itwas Dean who delivered the deathblow to Yellow Eyes, thanks to the Colt. John Winchester tackled Yellow Eyes from behind ,and gave Dean the opening to finish Azazel(Yellow Eyes' real name) off. But it was alluded that it had something to do with Yellow eyes plan from the way it ended. Also Dean stated he felt like they missed something pretty big when the townsfolk disappeared. And the demon who was working with Yellow Eyes(Crotoan was supposedly his name) said the whole thing was a test run. Maybe this season, if the Writer's Strike gets all sorted out we'll find out. Besides, it doesn't seem like everything Yellow Eyes did folded up shop with his death, with the doings a transpiring with Ruby, and Sam finding out everyone connected to his mother being knocked off. Then hell, even his mother knew of Yellow Eyes as we saw in All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1. So there might be more story to tell ? Anywho if yout don't remember Croatoan, here's the promo for it. I read part of the template for the show and it made no mentions of a Hockey Masked assailant anywhere.
I'm more pumped for the "season finale" in two more weeks. Apparently the one who rivals Sam will show in that episode. It will be awesome because Eric Kripke has also confirmed that if this season is cut short, there's a possibility that we'll come back for a possible EXTENDED 4th Season.

I've been a big fan of Supernatural since Day One. Loved last week's story with the "Desparate Hosewitches", and am wondering where the bloody heck where this season will be going with Dean. The whole story with Ma Voorhees' special boy showing up was just icing on the cake for me. If it doesn't happen I'm not going to be losing any sleep over it. But if they can't get it done on the show, with Wildstorm publishing both Friday The 13th and Supernatural books, they could always do it there.

Anyone but me notice how they're not billing this next episode as the Season Finale? I'm glad about that because that means it will be back for sure (hopefully no later than April) and it means we get to learn Dean's fate. I don't think this was supposed to be the episode that did him in - I think we were supposed to be intro'd into that come the later part of this season. However, tomorrow night's episode is supposed to be all around knock-em-down action. Kripke said this episode is one that fans are waiting for - and once again the one who rivals Sam appears for the first time in this episode which means he'll be back in the following 5 - 6 this season.

FBI Guy: "I shot the sheriff."
Dean: *With a grin* "But you didn't shoot the deputy."
Cue "Are you serious?!" look from Sam.

Great news...now I need to watch season 3 to catch up. I'm really happy that everyone seems to like it better than season 2...not because it was bad, but it certainly gives me a lot to look forward to.

I completely agree with you. I am very happy that Supernatural got picked up for another season, but I still need to watch season 3. And I am also happy people seem to like season 3 better than season 2, it's got me all hyped to watch season 3.

Is this another one of those shows that will return in late April due to the writer's strike?
Another thing - With the CW taking Reaper and putting it in Supes' Spot - I think they're just trying to get people into Reaper before they bring it back with a few final episodes. Since the CW announced that they locked a contract with Justin Hartley, I look for there to be a Super Hero block of the Thursday nights and for them to move Supernatural and Reaper into a Demon Fest on Tuesdays. This move could prove deadly to Supernatural as that they will always have to deal with American Idol in that time slot.
Nothing is definitive - I'm just speculating.

Supernatural.tv reports that Supernatural will be back in its time slot for Thursdays at 9 starting on April 24th.
I hate to double post, but it's been 6 days, and everytime I merge the fuckin' thing it goes back to the second page in its sub-forum.

very great news. I hope it will go ahead till 6th season.
I've only seen a handful of episodes and all of them have been very good.
Every time I say to myself, "I gotta start watching this show," and then I never remember to. Out of sight out of mind I guess.
The only time I've ever gone out of my way to watch it was the supposed Jason Voorhees episode which never happened.
I just watched the Ghostfacers episode and it was great. I gotta remember to watch this show on a regular basis ... we'll see how that turns out.

I thought the episode was pretty good too except they could have done without a few of the shaky camera scenes. You don't see that in the Ghosthunters shows (which you know this episode was a friendly jab at)
Dean: Hey, Ed, listen to me. There's some salt in my duffel bag. Make a circle and get inside.
Ed: Inside your duffel bag?
Dean: In the salt, you idiot!
That line was a priceless Dean moment!! :D
But in ghost hunter shows they usually aren't actually being chased by anything murderous or being freaked out by death-loops.
That exchange was great.
Harry telling Ed that he had to "go gay for that dead young man" to snap him out of the death-loop was a pretty good line too.

The awesome part of that is that I actually said to myself (during the episode, in fact) that it'd be awesome if they used Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, or Rob Tapert's names as pseudonyms sometime. When they did later in the episode, I nearly pissed myself.

So - Did anyone else catch the season finale tonight? I thought this episode was absolutely brilliant and thought it worth EVERY single moment. Not only that, but (like I said in the Smallville thread) I thought this to be the superior of the two Thursday shows tonight. Smallville's keen on making Season finales their stronghold, but this season Supernatural did it better and they went out with a bigger BANG. Not only that - but I didn't feel rushed. This episode had SOOOOO much to go for it and it delivered on every front... especially the ending. The ending was the best ending of any of the seasons so far.

I was surprised at how grisly Dean's fate was.
He got fucked up pretty bad, well, for a television show.

That last shot, of Dean stuck in hell, wrapped up in the chains and hooks and whatnot, looked like it was something out of Hellraiser. I half-expected Doug Bradley to pop up somewhere, just as a lark.
But I'm glad they didn't puss out and come up with some cheap, last-minute deus ex machina to negate the deal. That took guts on the part of the writing staff, and it's really got me looking forward to next season.

It's just like the prologue of the episode that had this scene in it Dean is destined to come back next season as a demon. There will be a way for them to fix it to where he's human again, but Dean will be a demon... I hope Ruby comes back though... she was SOOOO hot and I liked her character.

I have one question. Was that the regular demon that had possessed Ruby's body the whole season that Sam impaled through the head with the Demon Killer Knife or was that still the contract holder Lillith in her body?

Man, you know what? Fuck the writers of "Supernatural". Do they have it out for happy endings or something? Season 1's ending: bitch-made. Season 2's ending: Pretty piss-poor. Season 3's: worst of them all. I know they're trying to be "edgy and different", but "different" does not constitute "predictable". You know what would have been really cool, had they actually ended it happily! Since I've watched the show since it's pilot, I knew they were gonna pull this shit again because they don't know anything other THAN to pull shit like this.
So yeah, fuck you writers.
Does anybody remember when "Supernatural" was a relatively happy-go-lucky show about two boys kicking evil's ass? I really wish they'd bring that back.

What was so bad about season 2's finale?
Dean traded his Soul for Sam's life and for one year.
Daddy Winchester escaped from hell,
and they killed the YED (the shows main antagonist up until that point.)
It wrapped up the first two seasons, and could have worked as a Series Finale.
I've liked all three season's final episodes.

05-18-2008, 10:51 AM
See - I think it would have been a cheap and total cop out to let Dean escape the deal. That would have been the worst ending ever... because even if you remember correctly TM: This show wasn't all happy. It's got it's great moments and it's got happy/funny moments. This was the best season finale I've seen so far (although House and Lost look like they can top it.) and I would bet money next season kicks even more ass.

It doesn't bother me how a season ends I just hate when a series ends on a downer.
Good example of this is Quantum Leap, Sliders etc etc...

SS, I'm pretty sure Dean going to hell IS the worst ending it could have. I mean, does it get worse than THAT?
I mean, I can take Padalecki with Ackles, but without him? God, that's gonna be a long, uninvolving ol' haul.

See, what you're failing to see is that this show will continue on with BOTH of them next season - all endings to this season aside. However... Doesn't anyone else notice or bother to bring up the fact that Sam completely BLOCKED Lillith's death move towards him? Sam = More powerful than what we thought... which means We'll get to explore that too next season. And don't worry - Jensen will still be on the show next year.
ADDED:
Okay... I lied. I have been known to be wrong and it's sad to see this is how things end. I didn't see this until now and it has VERY VERY HOT SEASON 4 spoilers as well as season 3 endings... It's also from Kripke's mouth...
And then about the finale, "No Rest for the Wicked," I assume Jensen Ackles' character dies and that's the last we'll see of him on the show?
Yes, Jensen wanted to focus on movies, and he wouldn't give me the 25 percent salary kickback I demanded, so he's leaving the series. Chad Michael Murray is joining the cast to replace him, and next year will be like that season on Dukes of Hazzard where it was Vance and Coy instead of Bo and Luke. Everything's gonna be a little bit off, but it'll be good...I think you'll like it.
SUCK!!! Now I'm pissed... beyond belief.

So far for season 4 spoilers I've heard from different sites
1. Dean will return as a demon and Sam will try to find a way to make him human again.
2. Bela (Lauren Cohan) will not return for Season 4. So the demon dogs did take her to hell permanently.
3. Kripke has promised that there will be a lot of back story about Mary Winchester in season 4, and he's even toying with the idea of showing John and Mary when they were teenagers. Everybody loves a good flashback episode. We'll also find out more about the amulet in the near future.

According to G4's feed during "Attack of the Show" on 5-23-08, to refute internet rumors, the creator (his name just flashed by and I can't recall it) told the press Jensen Ackles is "100% returning to 'Supernatural' in the fall. He is as integral to the show as he's ever been."
Whew.

Eric Kripke. I know his last name is correct. But anyway - I think it's awesome. I can't believe he would tease like that in the interview I saw. I nearly shit myself when I saw it. I'm glad we're kinda going back and forth between who's the most integral part of the show and it's not just revolved around the one or other. I believe this year will be good. I have high expectations after the season finale. Smallville needs to step up... fast.

So kiddies - Tis nearly that time and it's time to start speculating.
CWSource.com reveals in an interview with Eric Kripke that Ghostfacers may get their own spinoff, whether it be on television or not, no one is certain.
It's also been confirmed that Episode 4 will be a time travel episode with One or both brothers seeing their parents at a young age where we finally learn the secret as to why exactly Mary Winchester knew old Yellow Eyes. :)
There's going to be a black and white episode this season. That sounds highly interesting considering how much I LOVED the Ghostfacers episode.
There was rumor of a prequel set in the wild west dealing with Supernatural... but it was squashed by Kripke.
Sad but true also - a while back, Supernatural.tv confirms through Kripke that 5 seasons may be all we get of Supernatural. He says he wants to go out on top... and it's going to be a hell of a ride to get there.
Season 4's premiere is titled Lazarus Rising

Supernatural is one of my favorite shows. Probably the only one I get annoyed about missing.
I thought I would hate it and refused to watch the first season, even though my sister said she liked it.
One day, I watched like half of a episode, when just flipping through the channels,
before I realized "hey, this is Supernatural and it is pretty good."
I bought the first season on DVD and have loved it ever since.
Dean is one of my favorite TV characters from the the past few years.
Not to hate on Sam, but for me it is all about Dean.
Of course, if he didn't have Sam to play off of then it wouldn't be as good.
September 18th can't come fast enough.

So... this was something different... I didn't like the Supernatural Season Premiere as much as I thought I would. Might have something to do with the faith and God aspect of the end of the episode. It had great humor... it's just a shame. I was kinda shocked because I was expecting so much more. Can't complain too much. It still is a great show... and I still can't wait until next week. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I was happy with the new season premiere, I mean if you think about it that's really the only way Dean could've escaped hell and returned from the grave.
This show keeps getting better can't wait for next week!!
I accidentally caught the season premiere last night.
I thought it was pretty good.
When the guy in the trench coat showed up I said "It's an angel" right away, and sure enough ... Although now I'm wondering if it's actually an angel or a demon who is pretending to be one or actually thinks it is one.
