Well....I don't have to say I really like them. But I don't know as much about them as most of you, I'd bet.
But...starting a thread about them sounded like a good idea...so...let's do this!

I love The Cars!!! They had such a unique sound, and I really can't think of a single song they did that I don't like. I always take their 2-CD Anthology with me on road trips.

The Cars were classic. Lots of great, fun tunes.
You Might Think and Drive are my favorite tunes from these guys.

about 2 weeks ago I listened to their Gretest Hits cd, and I forgot how great a band they really were, I don't have a favourite song, probably Magic, and y favourite album of theres is Heartbeat City
I also really like Ric Ocasek's solo song "Feeling's Got to Stay" which is featured on the movie Click

I'm going to get it asap.
My favorite songs are "Drive" and "Just What I Needed".
But I still feel I should know more about them...I'm going to research a bit. ;)

Just don't start with Door to Door. Not their best stuff.
I always wanted Blondie and the Cars to form a supergroup. The Blond Cars, Blond Drives Cars? :p

True, but You Are the Girl was a pretty good track off that album.

Shake It Up wasn't a great album, sure the title track is a Cars classic, I can listen to it on the radio, but I'm not a big fan of the song, buying that cd was a waste of money, and the only song off of it that I like, actually that I love, is "I'm Not the One"

I really like The Cars. I've liked them for a long time. I have their Greatest Hits, Panorama, Heartbeat City, and Candy-O.

Has anyone heard the Cars tribute album that came out a few years ago? It's called "Substitution, Mass Confusion," and the cover is an updated version of the Shake it Up album cover. It's not bad, but it's hard to cover a Cars song... they had such a strong and unique sound.

I've heard about it but I never actually heard it. I know this is going to sound ridiculous but I have a live version of "Just What I Needed" by Nick Carter and it blows my mind...it's actually pretty awesome...most of you guys will go..."no way"....but those who know me do know I don't like just "anything"...I am kinda picky when it comes to music and stuff so...I can tell you, that version is great! If you have the chance...check it, you'll see what I mean.

How had I missed this thread?
So, I bought this CD, back in high school...

Pretty much for only one song... "Just What I Needed"... and found myself loving pretty much every song on there. There were songs on there that I had loved for years and had no idea that The Cars had done them.
Of course, now there's a much better greatest hits CD out, that features some other good stuff that wasn't on that first one... "Moving In Stereo", "Bye Bye Love", "You're All I've Got Tonight", "Hello Again", etc.
The Cars are awesome, for sure.
