Part 1:

Its scary as hell and when you watch the movie for the first time, you wouldn't expect it!

Ditto. The last, say -- 20 minutes of part 3 easily make up for any shortcomings in the first 70 minutes (which I think are few, for the record). I wasn't a fan of Mrs. Voorhees jumping out of the lake, but I liked the rest, especially Jason's smile when he looks at Chris. Creeped me the hell out.

Runner-up is the original's, no questions asked.

The Final Chapter for me, with Jason getting owned by the machete.

I said Part IX, because Freddy Krueger's glove coming up and pulling Jason's mask underground came out of NOWHERE. Perfect segway to Freddy vs. Jason.

I picked part 4. Jason got owned by Corey Feldman.

I love the ending in The Final Chapter, but I also love the fight between Freddy and Jason... hard to pick just one.

How can anyone vote for any ending but the original? Jason jumping out of the lake at the end. That is too classic not to mention iconic and just damn scary.

The original not only has the best ending in this series but one of the best endings in all of horror.

In no particular order.

-First film because it was surprising. You never saw it coming and was done well. It left an ambigious feeling of whether Jason really attacked Alice or if she's going mad.

-Second film which while you figured it was coming, it was still done well when Jason comes through the window. Especially Manfredini's score here. The ambigious feeling returns with a more sinister score ending as we return to the shack to see Pamela's head.

-JGTH because it's what many had wanted to see for a long time. It would only be better if we heard Robert Englund's laugh. You were expecting Jason to pop back up and instead, we have Freddy's hand.

-TFC gave a satisfying ending with the door left open for more. The new cue used here definately works and seeing Tommy open his eyes just about the time we hear the Manfredini vocals was well done.

-The third film, though it doesn't make sense why we see Pamela grab Chris, it's countered by the mystery of why Chris saw this. First seeing Jason in the barn and then seeing the pond/lagoon/whatever. The music here by Manfredini works well.

-FvsJ as we see Jason walking away with Freddy's head, but we have a wink and a nod from Freddy. Ending with both Freddy's theme and the Manfredini vocals.

-ANB has a good cliffhanger moment as we see Tommy finally snapping and embracing the legacy of madness. Shame we never got to see the full fallout in JL.

6, but I've always been pretty into the Tommy/Jason relationship.

I love the music it plays at the end of the first. You would never expect to see Jason jump out of the lake.

I voted for part 1 just because it's the most surprising and classic. But I think they've all ended in a satisfactory way (unlike, say Halloween 6).

Heck, I even liked the infamous "father pulling Jason under" ending of Part VII. I thought it was clever.

If I had to only pick ONE, i'd say the original. I also really like Part 3's ending as well.

I voted for the ending of the Original Friday The 13th.

TFC and JGTH's endings get honorable mentions though.

Only Part 3 and Part 8 have REALLY sucky endings IMO.

I just dislike Part 3 in general. It's dull and overtly cheesey and it really, for me, has no hook or point of interest. The Final Chapter works wlel with characters, has a desperate Jason and feels like its moving to a climax. Part 2 has the mystery of Jason and his cabin and all. Part 3 has a barn and really bad un-3D effects.

Yeah, I'm not too big on Part 3 either. It does get points for being the first Friday the 13th I saw through.

I don't dislike III's ending other than Mrs. Voorhees emerging. Chris being lead off then panning over to Jason is eerie as hell.

The characters in III is what I loved. They all worked together well ut with a dichotomy- jock, preppy girl, goody gody, hippies, nerd, and a country boy then the bikers. I thought the characters in this movie were way more realistic than the ones in 4,5,6,7 and 8. I thought III had more creepy moments than any other Friday film... stalking Jason IMO works way better than the Jason in IV, V,VI,VII and so on. The way it was shot when Jason as watching from the barn worked well.

The action was there and not TOO much of it. It was an upbeat plot, and the sheer horror did not start till close to the end. I love how Jason didn't actively go after ANYONE until Chris- he just stood and waited for them to come to him. That's the way real killers usually are when int he same scenario.

In short, III was more realistic than anything after it. My only beef with the movie was the hanging (would have no doubt been fatal) and the Mrs. Voorhees ending. Both were unecessary and both were only there as a seat jumper.

The end of Jason Lives. Jason being chained at the bottom of Crystal Lake then the credits start rolling to Alice Cooper's "He's Back(The Man Behind the Mask). I love it.

The first film's 'final fight' at the beach, the decapitation, and Jason coming out of the water at the end made it the best.
I like part 2's ending alot as well. Ginny putting on the sweater and pretending to be Jason's mother was pretty cool, in my opinion.
The Final Chapter's climax was also great, and it featured my favorite of defeat of Jason.
