This is a band that i've been listening to since i was pretty young, i still remember the feud between Oasis and Blur back in the day (around 1995, i think). Good times.

My favourite Oasis song is either Sunday Morning Call or Little by Little. Just depends on what mood i'm in.

Oasis are currently recording their seventh studio album, which is supposed to be released in August/September this year.

I love this band. My all time favourite band - hence the Oasis shirt on the avatar version of myself.

Like yourself Denzil I too have different favourite songs from them.

They are Live Forever, Columbia, Married with Children and Champagne Supernova. There is so many that are good tunes though.

I now can't stand Wonderwall though as it's still so much over played.

Have to also say that The Masterplan is a quality song too. I could go on for ages with songs I like. Leave it at that for now though.

Yeah, the Masterplan is an awesome song. It is a great song to hear live too.

I havent heard it live for a while. Well I;ve heard mp3's I have of it but not live, live. You know what I mean.

I think the last time I heard it live was up your neck of the woods at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. I just looked at my ticket and it was back in 2002. Time flies

Last time I seen Oasis live was at Hampden just after Don't Believe the Truth was released. I was up in the seats way over in what would be called the Celtic end. Shame Oasis were all the way at the other end of the stadium.

A lot of their songs are great. I've got a brilliant electric guitar version of Talk Tonight that I manegd to download a few years back.

Im hoping the new album will have a few great songs on their. They always manage to have one at least one really good song an album

The Masterplan (album) is fantastic--it's better than most band's proper albums, and it's just a collection of B-Sides.

I've never seen Oasis live, but I'd sure love to the next time they make their way over to the states.

I've always loved Oasis. They're such a great band, and definitely a good 'mood' music.

Heh, it's pretty unusual for an Oasis-fan to have two non Definitely Maybe/Morning Glory-songs as ones favorites :p

What I'd like to contribute to this discussion is say that Be Here Now is one of the most underrated albums of all time. Whenever some critic or so talks about Oasis they always mentions those two masterpieces. For me, it's three. D'You Know What I Mean, My Big Mouth, Stand By Me, I Hope I Think I Know, Don't Go Away and All Around The World are all top songs.

As the three other albums they've done. They're not on par with the first three, but I do love songs like Stop Crying Your Heart Out, The Hindu Times, Songbird, Little by Little, The Importance of Being Idle, Let There Be Love, Turn up the Sun and Keep the Dream Alive.

Great band.

New Album and Song out soon

The Shock Of The Lightning’ new single out September 29th

‘Dig Out Your Soul’ new album out October 6th

Oasis are set to return later this year with a new single and their seventh studio album. The single,‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ is released on September 29th and the album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ follows in October; it is the first new Oasis music since last year’s ‘Lord Don’t Slow Me Down’, taken from the on the road film of the same name. ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ sees Dave Sardy return to the producer’s chair following his work on their 2005 album, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’. Recorded at Abbey Road and mixed in Los Angeles, all four members once again contribute tracks, but the recording marks a new approach for the band as described by the band’s principle songwriter, Noel:

“I wanted to write music that had a groove; not songs that followed that traditional pattern of verse, chorus and middle eight. I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way. Songs that you would maybe have to connect to - to feel.”

The lead single is still unmistakably Oasis, a Noel penned song with Liam’s immediately familiar voice to the fore underlining their distinctive brand of finger in the socket rock ’n’ roll.

‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ may well represent the most recognisable Oasis song on the album but, again, the new approach on ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ was present on this lead track as Noel explains:

“If ‘The Shock Of The Lightning’ sounds instant and compelling to you, it’s because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast. ‘The Shock of The Lightning’ basically is the demo. And it has retained its energy. And there’s a lot to be said for that, I think. The first time you record something is always the best.”

Well yesterday I got tickets to see Oasis in Glasgow, November 5th

What a nightmare trying to get them though.

I was booking tickets on line and each time I got to the end of the booking scrren the page would time out or I'd get the standard page unavailable screen. Eventually the order went through, I got confirmation and Im happy.

A few hours later though I check my e-mails again and there is another 5 confirmation e-mails came through. Seems each time the page timed out the order went through. So instead of getting 4 tickets suddenly 29 were on their way.

I started panicking as I don't have that sort of cash in my back to pay for them all. Then I started panicking even more after reading on the Oasis website "If you order more than 4 tickets to be sent to the same address all orders will be cancelled!!!"

I know this is to try and stop touts but it was squeaky bum time on my part. More so that Id told friends that I had tickets.

I tired e-mailing the ticket company but got no joy and in the end had to sit in a phone queue for 45 mintues to get it sorted.

Thankfully everything seems fine now. Im going to keep checking my bank though incase a crazy amount of cash comes out.

But anyway, November 5th I see Oasis
