Awesome band. I own all of their albums, all of which are great. I'll be seeing them live too when they come here to Las Vegas on August 3rd
I like Godsmack. I enjoyed their acoustic CD they put out a few years ago.

Godsmack is making plans of releasing a box set soon for their 10th anniversary as a band. The set will include their 4 studio albums, the unplugged album and a DVD of live music and storys behind their albums and songs.
Sounds pretty cool but I wish it would have had a CD full of new music too instead of what we already have.
Or I would have prefered 1 CD of Greatest Hits, 2 CD's of New Music and demos of past songs and a DVD.
Godsmack is a great band. Alive is their best album in my opinion. I remember I was in high school when it came out and it came out like a day or two before Halloween. That was a good Halloween season.

I was hoping to see them here in Vegas but things got complicated and I didn't get to see them :( I definitely will next time though.

According to Godsmack's website their making plans of releasing a "Greatest Hits" CD with a couple new songs on it for their 10th Anniversary as a band, original plans was a boxset of all their released music and a DVD but plans changed. After the CD is released Sully has stated that the band is taking a short break to clear the mind and soul.

Look forward to the Greatest Hits CD. Hope it has some rare tracks on it that'll make it worth picking up.
I'll get the hits cd and put the whole sucker on my ipod.

I like Godsmack. I enjoyed their acoustic CD they put out a few years ago.

They recently released it as a single from their new Greatest Hits (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Times%2C_Bad_Times..._Ten_Years_of_Godsmack) album.

I might pick that up when I get some extra cash. I was hoping they'd have more of their rare songs on there, like Why? I Thought and Safe And Sound :meh:

The only reason I might pick it up is because of the Live Acoustic DVD it comes with. I already have all of their albums, so I really don't need the Greatest Hits CD.
I guess they didn't include any rare tracks on there because it's a Greatest Hits/Best Of album. Had they released a box set, like they originally planned, it would have had all of the rare tracks and b-sides. I have no idea why they scrapped the box set; I would have bought that in a heartbeat.

I would've gotten the boxed set as well and am disappointed it was scrapped :(

Tell me about it.
It seems to me like they would have benefited more from a boxed set rather than a Greatest Hits album.

They definitely would've. All of the B-sides and rare tracks with some great collectable content to boot. Shame it was scrapped :(

Godsmack are also on hiatus. So, it seems this Greatest Hits CD is the last we'll see of them for a while.

Yeah I love their versions of Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf" and their live version of White Zombie's "Thunderkiss 65".
I still have yet to hear "I Thought" and "Safe And Sound"

I think it would be cool to hear a Sully solo Cd while Godsmack is on hiatis. I just hope this doesn't go from a hiatis to a breakup!

I'm hoping the same. I hope Godsmacck does some touring in 2008 and comes here to Vegas, I have yet to see them live.

I seen them live back when they opened for the Black Sabbath reunion here in Cleveland back in 1999, but I have yet to see them now as the headliners.

Their next album with new material probably won't come out until sometime in 2009.

Yeah that's a long wait!! That's probably why they released their GH's to hold us fans over.

It's worth the wait if the album is a good one. I think IV is their best album to date, and the next album has the potential to be another keeper from them.

Godsmack is one of the few bands I don't think have any bad songs. The only song of their's I don't really care for is Situation, which I find a little boring, but it's not horrible. There has yet to be a Godsmack song I outright hate.

Seen this on Godsmack's Wiki
In 2008, the band announced that they would begin writing another studio album. The expected release date was said to be around mid 2009. According to Shannon Larkin, the band is now heading into the studio to write and record the fifth full length album, due out in 2009.
FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
