Here it is, the place to discuss anything and all things Metal! :D
I bought Nile's new album today. I haven't listened to it yet, but I will pretty soon.
What has everyone been listening to lately?

I can't get enough of Dio's Magica album today, don't know why
MaDMaNMaRz

Shoey - I like Grave Digger. I'm not THAT into power metal, but I think they're pretty good.
I've actually been throwing in Dio quite a bit too, Fonz. I was listening to Sacred Heart earlier. What's your favorite Dio album, Fonz?
CanadianFonzie
07-14-2007, 04:01 AM
right now I'd have to say Magica, though other than that I'd have to say Dream Evil, though I know both albums feature Craig Goldy on guitar, I find Vivian to be Dio's best guitarist, he doesn't think he was some guitar hero, but I sure do, just listen to the solo's on Don't Talk to Strangers, Stand Up and Shout and King of Rock and Roll...just to name a few

07-14-2007, 04:09 AM
It's actually kind of hard for me to only pick one.
My top 3 choices would be:
The Last in Line
Dream Evil
Strange Highways
Strange Highways is a pretty heavy album. Kind of underrated, IMO.
I am listening to the new Nile right now. It is awesome! I can't wait to finnish it, because mine came with a dvd. I don't even know what is on the dvd, so I'll be suprised when I pop it in the old dvd player later on tonight.

07-14-2007, 04:02 PM
MMM I haven't heard the whole album of Strange Highways, but I've heard 2, maybe 3 songs from it, it's okay, I specifically know the title track, because it's on the Very Beast of cd that I have, but have you ever heard Magica? that was his return to his good sound, because he made Strange Highways and Angry Machines which were both pretty heavy...Angry Machines was too heavy for my taste, and there was Lock Up the Wolves which I bought on cassette when it came out and I found that to be quite the waste of money, but Magica returned to be a somewhat heavier Dream Evil IMO

Ah yes, Metal Thread yet again. I've been listening to Acid Bath, Frightmare, Weedeater, and Darkness Remains lately. Pretty varied assortment there but it's what I dig.
Madman I got that Bloodfreak cd, but it hasn't arrived yet. I look forward to listening to it.
Madman, what do you know about Fondlecorpse? The little bit I've heard sounds good and they seem pretty cool.

Awesome! I know you'll love the new Blood Freak. :)
Fondlecorpse are really good. They're from the Netherlands. They've been around for a little while now. They have a couple of 7", one full length( From Beyond the Crypt) and a recently released MCD( Blood and Popcorn).
I'd definitely recommend them. They have a Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/fondlecorpse) page if you want to check them out.

I've been listening to a ton of Megadeth lately, which is funny cause I really hadn't listened to them in months before about a week ago. I heard a bit of the new album and I know I'm going to pick it up now.
CanadianFonzie
07-16-2007, 01:10 AM
it's been a while since I've picked up a new Megadeth cd, the last one I got was their new one the day it came out, I gotta get Rust in Peace, cause it's the next on my list to get by them, but I always come across cd's alot cheaper that I end up getting instead
Lance Lives

Rust in Peace is by far my favorite Megadeth. Other than that cd I don't really care for them that much. Countdown is pretty good though.
I'm on my first listen of that Blood Freak cd and I really dig it. Kinda reminds me of Frightmare but it's kinda different. I'll probably get that Fondlecorpse MCD, or do you think I should get the full length Razorback has?
I went to "Sounds of the Underground" yesterday and it was probably one of the worst shows I've been to. Went for Goatwhore and Amon Amarth and didn't see either of them. They started the show before everyone was inside and we missed Goatwhore and Amon Amarth didn't even show up. On top of everything I lost my glasses. Bad day on all accounts but oh well.

my son swears that he saw Glen Drover, the guitarist for Megadeth, at the concert we went to last night, too bad I didn't see him, I would have liked to talk to him, my son was too nervous to say anything and by the time he finally stopped me and told me he had left the spot that my son saw him
Rust in Peace is by far my favorite Megadeth. Other than that cd I don't really care for them that much. Countdown is pretty good though
You must not have ever herd Killing is my Business...And Business is Good or Piece Sells...But Who's Buyin'. Those are two classic metal albums.
Lance Lives
07-18-2007, 06:35 PM
Yeah, I have both of those albums. Some of Peace Sells is pretty good, but nothing I want to listen to very much. I remember being a fan of Wake Up Dead, that one was pretty good, but I could just never get into Dave's voice on any of the other releases. And the new version of A Tout Le Mond is cringe worthy and laughable at the same time.
Dave has a very unique kind of voice.
And the new version of A Tout Le Mond is cringe worthy and laughable at the same time.
I love it way better then the original version.
Dave said something interesting a few years back. He said that he and James [Hetfield] have voices that you can easily regognize anywhere whenever you hear them. Even if you don't always like them, at least you can recognize them, where most other bands just do their best Philip Ansolmo or Chris Barnes or Burton C. Bell impression. He said that in an interview on K-Rock radio, a New York radio station, when it was still a music station. I happen to agree with him there.
Dave has always had that rebellious 10 year old singing voice. Sometimes it's funny, but I like it. He sounds like a pissed teenager even while in his 40s.
CanadianFonzie
07-18-2007, 11:06 PM
I think I prefer the new version of A Tout Le Monde, probably because Glen is my favourite guitarist that Megadeth has had...though the guitaring of the song wasn't changed that much
but comparing Dave's and James' voices, they are both very recognizable for such a genre, but as I've stated numerous times, and everyone finds this wierd, as do I, but I love Megadeth, but I just can't get into Metallica, no matter how hard I try, and the singing is a major part of the reason, I love Dave's voice, and James, though he has a pretty good voice, I just can't get into them
I love both bands. My all time top 5 metal/rock bands are:
1. Metallica
2. Pantera
3. Slayer
4. Megadeth
5. Sepultura
CanadianFonzie

CanadianFonzie
07-22-2007, 03:25 AM
has anyone ever heard anything from the band Cacophony? the band with Marty Friedman and Jason Becker, before such a tragedy struck Becker ofcourse, if you haven't heard anything by Cacophony, and are realy into guitar shredders and neo-classical music I recommend their music, Jason Becker is IMO the greatest neo-classical shredder ever to grace a guitar and it's a tragedy he was sticken with ALS over a decade ago, but I'm glad that he is still alive and hasn't let te desease take over his composing abilities
Slayer is one of those bands that keeps putting out great songs no matter how old they get.
I don't know if I totally agree with that. God Hates Us All and Christ Illusion were awesome albums. I thought everything between them and Seasons in the Abyss was horrible. They were at a point in the 1990s where they were writing boring stale stuff and just could not write a good song anymore. Then they made that punk covers album, which was the biggest pile of crap ever recorded. For Slayer, I stick with Show No Mercy - Seasons, and then I like the two newest albums.

Man, I haven't been on here in almost a week! I haven't had access to a computer lately.
Glad to hear you like the new Blood Freak album. If you HAD to pick one, i'd say to get Blood and Popcorn( the MCD). I personally think that is their best material.
I picked up a CD by a band called Catasexual Urge Motivation yesterday. It's actually on Razorback Records. There a gore-grind band from Japan. Man, they are seriously the sickest band i've ever heard. They're music is just real twisted, haha.
The new Nile album, Ithyphallic, is killer!!! It's actually my new favorite album by them now. I love it.

Danzig isn't half bad as I've gotten to notice lately, I don't know many of their songs and I don't know if I'd go out and buy their stuff, but it's pretty good to listen to
and I just bought Megadeth's Cryptic Writings and am listening to it right now, I'm on the song "Sin" and I'm loving the whole album so far

The first 4 are classic, I am probably partial because that is when the "alternative" metal scene hit, back when I was in college.
Cryptic Writings is an alright album. The songs Trust, Use the Man, and Desentigrators (sp?) are all pretty good.

Yeah, Glenn ended the 'fits in 83 and went on to do Samhain which is the mid-ground between the too bands. It was still punkish, but it kept getting more and more blue-sy and heavy so they started up the band for American Records.

I love all 3!! I was actually rocking Suicidal Tendencies's How Will I Laugh Tomorrow today.
I'm a big Danzig fan. Out of all of his projects, I like him in The Misfits the best. I'm listening to Collection 1 right now.
Lance Lives
07-26-2007, 01:45 AM
Yeah, The Misfits are one of my favorite bands ever. I went ahead and bought the box set not too long ago because my Collections 1 and 2 were both completely fucked.
I'm also in the minority but I personally like Graves era more than Danzig. I just love the songs and the vibe of the whole thing. It seems that the whole of the horror rock scene today rips more off of Graves era than Danzig, but then proceed to bash it. I don't get it.
MaDMaNMaRz
08-02-2007, 03:49 AM
Tim, you know I love the Graves era as well. :) Famous Monsters is a great album.
Have you heard the new Nile album yet? IMO, it's their best yet. The production sounds pretty similiar to Annihilation of the Wicked, but the songs are more brutal. :D The new Behemoth albums slays too!
Lance Lives
08-03-2007, 03:37 AM
Nah, haven't heard the new Nile. I'm always behind when it comes to new death. I've been listening to Arsis all day. Intense stuff. I like their old cd better than the new one though. Never heard the EP they did, I need to pick it up.
MaDMaNMaRz
08-03-2007, 03:41 AM
I've heard Arsis before, but I don't own any of their albums. :(
Right now i'm listening to Death( Sacred Serenity). :)
Also, I have some news on the 4th Blood Freak album. Ed Repka will be doing the cover art again. The album is going to be called "Scared Stiff". Neil reported that there are going to be slower, "doom" parts in it. It's going to be the fastest, and sleaziest album by Blood Freak. :D I guess he almost already half way done writing for it!!!! Neil means business.
How are you liking Multiplex Massacre, Tim? What are your favorite songs?
Lance Lives
08-04-2007, 04:54 AM
Geez, he really doesn't fuck around dude, he must have so many riffs in his head it's ridiculous. My favorite song off of MM is Savage Streets. Good stuff. Hey, do you know what movie the first sample off that disc is from? It sounds like Robert Englund to me, but I can't place it.
You need to get some Arsis man. Their cd A Celebration of Guilt is intense. There's a song on there called Maddening Disdain that I really think is one of the most badass songs I've ever heard.
MaDMaNMaRz
08-07-2007, 12:56 AM
Damn......I'm pretty positive i've seen the movie. I can't think of the movie, either. It's going to kill me trying to think of the name, haha.
I'm going to be in LA in a couple of weeks. That Amoeba Records store I mentioned before has a HUGE selection of CD's. I'm sure they'd have stuff by them. I'll have to check them out. I'd actually be surprised if they didn't have anything by them.
I also discovered a Metal store in Chicago!!! It's called Metal Haven. It was pretty small, but they had some good shit there. That's where I bought the Catasexual Urge Motivation CD. They are seriously the sickest sounding band.....ever. They're a gore/grind band from Japan. I believe that album I got was on Razorback!! :)
I was listening to King Diamond today....Abigail. I still need to pick up the new one. Have any of you guys heard it yet? How is it?
I still have to get Abagail. That album is classic. I also need Don't Break the Oath.
I have Melissa and The Beginning and they are both great.
Right now I am listening to Sabbath, but lately I have been listening to a lot of Metallica, Megadeth, Dying Fetus, an Six Feet Under.
MaDMaNMaRz
08-11-2007, 04:24 AM
Lately i've been listening to Skid Row, Black Sabbath, Death, Metallica, Anthrax, and The Misfits.
I actually had the urge to listen to Skid Row again because i've been playing Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's.....they have 18 and Life on there.
CanadianFonzie
08-11-2007, 04:49 AM
and what a bad job on it they did do
I find myself listening to Ozzy Osbourne lately, next time I go downtown, which should be monday, I'm lookin' to see the prices of Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin, if they have them ofcourse, Jake E. Lee is a great guitarist and along with Randy was Osbournes only good guitarist IMO...ofcourse Brad Gillis played with Ozzy, but that was only for that live album Speak of the Devil, so I won't count Gillis (who I probably actually like more than Randy or Jake)
MaDMaNMaRz
08-11-2007, 05:00 AM
Haha, I do agree that it wasn't that great a version( 18 and Life). It's way better than Holy Diver, though.
Speak of the Devil is one of my favorite live albums. :) That was cool that he did all Black Sabbath songs.
I've always thought Randy was his best guitar player.....and one of the all-time greatest in general.
CanadianFonzie
08-11-2007, 05:06 AM
the tour for Speak of the Devil (atleast one show that i know of) he didn't play just Sabbath songs, he also played his solo stuff, just the album was Sabbath songs, the live show that I saw (I wasn't at the show mind you) was quite the amazing looking show, Gillis' guitar solo was incredible
and ofcourse I think Randy was his best guitarist, just Jake E. Lee was great in his own way, he was no Randy though
I say Randy wouldn't get so much attention if he was still alive today, I know that's bad of me to say, but it's like that with a lot of dead musicians, they're more respected dead than alive, especially, like in Randy's case, when you die so early in your popular career

I just bought Judas Priests Ram It Down album, I've always loved this album, but it's so corny the lyrics, they won't get off the topic of metal, it's like a Manowar album, but man what great guitaring Glenn and K.K. do on the album

My favorite Rock/Metal bands in no order at all:
Metallica (everything except St. Anger)
Pantera

Slayer

Fear Factory
Chimaira
Rammstein
Motorhead
Armored Saint
Lamb Of God

What's with all the hate on St. Anger? I though it was excellent.
For me, they just completely lost ALL of their energy. Some people might call me crazy, but I personally think they lost their energy with the Black album. I do think it's a decent album, but I couldn't get into it as much. As for St. Anger, I just thought the songs were terrible. They didn't solo at all, and Lars's drums sounded like shit. :X
Fonz - I like Judas Priest alot too. My favorite albums are Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller. Painkiller was REALLY heavy....almost to the point of being thrashy! - that's why I love it so much. :)
CanadianFonzie
08-12-2007, 04:09 AM
I really like that album, but I don't like the title track, my favourite Judas Priest albums range from Vengeance to Ram It Down, I really can't decide, I have the Electric Eye dvd and it has the concert they recorded on the Turbo tour, and I thought that was an excelent show, I really want to get this Live Vengeance dvd they have, because I saw them on that tour
MaDMaNMaRz
08-12-2007, 04:19 AM
While I love Priest, i've always preferred Iron Maiden. :)
If I had to only pick one favorite Maiden album, i'd say Powerslave. The Number of the Beast would be 2nd, and Somewhere in Time would be 3rd.
I was flipping through the Music Choice channels yesterday, and they had a Dokken song on. Ever since, i've had the urge to listen to Dream Warriors. I kind of want to watch the movie now too, haha. :)
Out of the first 2 Skid Row albums, which one do you prefer, Fonz? It's actually a tie for me. Their self-titled debut had more "radio friendly" songs, but they were really good. Slave to the Grind is alot heavier. :D
Also, did you know that Sebastion Bach used to be on the show Gilmore Girls? Yeah, i've actually watched the show, haha. :side:
CanadianFonzie
08-12-2007, 04:29 AM
I personally prefere Judas Priest faaaaaaar more than Maiden
as for Dokken, George Lynch is one of the greatest guitarists, yet one of the greatest ego-asses out there, I once read that Don said to the band before a show that he wasn't feeling his best that night and he didn't think he'd be singing too good, than George said "who cares, they're only here to see me and you guys just back me up", and he meant it
I prefer Skid Rows first album, the singer they have now sings Baz's stuff pretty damn good live, yet the original stuff he does with them isn't the best, though their latest album isn't too bad, I still don't think I'd buy it, and yes I read he was a regular on Gilmore Girls
I'm going downtown tomorrow so I hope to pick up some W.A.S.P. which I have been craving the past couple of weeks
MaDMaNMaRz
08-12-2007, 04:36 AM
I've heard the new singer. I don't think he's ANYWHERE near as good as Baz. I do like the music on the new album, though. I personally don't think i'd buy it either. Skid Row isn't really Skid Row without good ol' Baz. :)
Yeah, George Lynch has the biggest ego ever.......but he is a really good player.
I haven't heard that much W.A.S.P. Who would you compare them to?
CanadianFonzie
08-12-2007, 04:38 AM
well sound wise waaaaaaay back when I first heard them I thought them to sound like a heavier Motley Crue, than I got kind of more into them (not really their music, more their story) and I found that they were nothing like Motley Crue, the Crue falls under glam metal while W.A.S.P. are a shock rock act, and aot scarier to look at, but Blackie is a great musician who knows when to be serious, but other than that I don't know who to compare them to, mind you both them and Motley Crue were part of the whole L.A. Sunset Strip thing
MaDMaNMaRz
08-12-2007, 04:41 AM
I don't mind SOME "hair/glam" metal. Motley Crue are decent, IMO. Maybe i'll check W.A.S.P. out.
80's thrash and 80's-early 90's death metal will always be my favorite type of metal. I grew up on it. :)
CanadianFonzie
08-12-2007, 04:43 AM
knowing your interests, you'll probably prefer the early W.A.S.P., such songs as Animal (Fuck Like a Beast) or I Wanna Be Somebody or Blind in Texas...mycurrent favourite is Wild Child
MaDMaNMaRz
08-12-2007, 04:48 AM
I'll have to check those out.
You should definitely check out some King Diamond.....i'd recommend songs off of "Abigail" and "Them." Andy LaRocque is a really good player. I've always liked him. The Diamond also sang in Mercyful Fate. They're really good too.
CanadianFonzie

CanadianFonzie
08-12-2007, 02:51 PM
I don't know why I just can't get into them, I have tried time and time again
another band I think is a thrash band that I don't mind is Eidolon, the other band that Glen and Shawn Drover are in other than Megadeth
I was in a local Hot Topic yesterday and met a couple friends. Being from NJ it was nice to meet someone who has just moved to Hawaii from CT a month ago. We became friends and were talking for a while. It's hard to find a cool east coaster out here, but she was talking about bands like Children of Bodom and Dimmu and stuff like that. Yeah, I don't guess I've been excited for an album ever as much as I am for this Down cd. Holy shit, there's no way it will do anything but own.
I prefer the second Superjoint cd to the first. You should buy it again, there's some killer tracks on there.

Anything really, melodic metal like Killswitch is my preference though. God I love Killswitch. I'm not too into bands that JUST scream and shout throughout the songs, or really dark death/black metal from Sweden/Iceland etc.

08-15-2007, 03:30 AM
Well, I personally like sludge/doom/stoner metal. It's slower stuff that's more riff oriented. Stuff you can really groove to ya know? I've never really been too into the whole scream then sing thing. I used to like Shadows Fall and some of their stuff is like that. Their cd The Art of Balance is pretty good, I can still rock it.

I like sludge/doom metal as well. Electric Wizard is pretty good.
I'd still say the ultimate doom album is Black Sabbath's Master of Reality. Great album! :)

Gotta love Sabbath. Master of Reality does indeed crush.
I'm a big Electric Wizard fan. Dopethrone is so heavy.
Madman, have you ever heard the band Weedeater? They are really heavy. They just put out their 3rd album and seem to be getting more coverage than in the past, probably because their on Southern Lord now.

I've heard the name, but i've never heard any of their songs. Man, I need to start listening to some more sludgy/doom metal. I'm not TOO familiar with many bands like that. :(
Yeah, Dopethrone is really heavy. I'm pretty sure their guitars are tuned all the way down to Bb.
Tim - Have you ever heard the band Psycroptic? Their 3rd album(?), Symbols of Failure is really good. I don't have the album, but I have heard some of the songs off it. If you like really technical, complex shit I think you'd dig it.

No, never heard of 'em. I've basically been sticking to sludge and stoner stuff lately. Gettin' psyched for the new DOWN! If you want to check out a band with slower riffs and sludge style but is different, I very highly recommend Rwake. If you can get their new disc on Relapse called Voices of Omens, I think you'd really like it. They are becoming one of my favorites.

I realize my input is always ignored, so I'm just taking this time to state something I have realized
going back on an old topic: Danzig, I've always found Glenn to be a rather scary guy in a sense, but today I found out he's actually quite intellectual, especially dealing with religion and that stuff, and it's quite scary, I don't know if this was true, but I saw this interview (actually a couple of interviews) and one of them he read this book called "The Lost Books of the Bible" or something like that, and some of what he read was kind of scary, like Jesus as a child killing other children for running into him and for not letting him bring sculptures to life...I don't really believe that, but I now know that Glenn isn't just some dumb headed singer who is all talk and no brain
thank you for your time, lol
Lance Lives
08-25-2007, 03:34 AM
Danzig is an all around badass, no doubt about it. I think that sometimes in his interviews he tries to seem really smart, and though I don't doubt his intellect at all, I don't think it's anything to be scared of. I mean, he IS the guy that wrote Wicked Pussycat.
CanadianFonzie
08-25-2007, 03:40 AM
but you, know, the Satanism, he actually knows about it, he doesn't just write songs about it like other "Satanists", actually he isn't quite a satanist, but it astounds me his views on things, I mean me being a fellow opinionative person (on different topics though)
another thing is, I never actually realized that he is older than me, lol
MaDMaNMaRz
08-25-2007, 03:43 AM
That's the funny thing with black metal. Surprisingly, quite a few black metal bands are what people would call "true" Satanists. I know alot of them practice Odinism, which is a little different.
There are different types of Satanists....some are more humane, and others are just complete misanthropes. Anton LaVey( the founder of the Church of Satan), came up with a more humane Satanism, and most of the black metal artists were completely against him.
CanadianFonzie
08-25-2007, 03:52 AM
see satanism is something I try to stay completely away from, which is a reason I do not and will not listen to Black Metal
MaDMaNMaRz
08-25-2007, 09:16 AM
Some of the black metallists were hardcore in the early 90's. I don't know if you've heard about it Fonz, but there were ALOT of church burnings, murders, and suicides. Not all of them participated in those events. I always thought that was pretty pointless.
But for me, it's ALL about the music. I don't listen to THAT much black metal, because most of it sounds the same. I mainly listen to the more well known black metal acts(because they were more diverse, and had their own sound), such as Emperor(my favorite black metal band), Darkthrone, Immortal, Dark Funeral, Satyricon, Carpathian Forest, etc.
CanadianFonzie

I know about the Church burning, mainly the ones in Norway
Lance Lives
08-26-2007, 03:38 AM
From what I understand the church burnings are starting to come back into style and there have apparently been quite a few arrests recently concerning it.
I think that stuff is stupid and I don't see why music should have anything to do with it. Doing something because music influenced you in any way is ignorant if you ask me. Do your own thing, and if it comes down to your own thing being burning down a church, I really don't want anything to do with you.

Yeah I agree, though it's kind of a different subject, I hate when metal gets the bad rap when somebody does something stupid. Columbine being a great example. These fellas listened to some heavy stuff apparently and that became a big thing for a while. But when the VT shooting happened they discovered that that dude listened to Collective Soul and never said another thing about it. That just rubs me the wrong way.
MaDMaNMaRz
08-26-2007, 04:47 AM
I hate that too. The media always blows it out of proportion. Any time there is some sort of shooting, if they find out they listened to heavy metal, they ALWAYS blame it on the music! I just don't get it. It's not the music that causes people to act out in violence......people dictate THEIR OWN behavior. It's such nonsense.
Anyways, Tim, have you heard the new Shadows Fall album? I honestly didn't care for Fallout from the War too much. I personally think Shadows Fall are starting to deteriorate, to be honest.

I was thinking to myself, yeah - jay-Z's music is so anti - American.:lmao:
Just kidding: but oh, so true.
Its so messed up how people want to blame the easiest underlying factor they can find, but really don't have a clue. Maybe the persons' parents just sucked or they had some kind of f'd up chemical imbalance that never went treated.

I just wanna say something, I agree that Dimebag Darrel was an amazing one of a kind guitarist, but the problem was I couldn't get into him because Pantera is far beyond my type of music, so I don't miss him as much as just about everyone else does, which is unfortunate
MaDMaNMaRz
08-28-2007, 07:32 AM
No problem, Fonz. Everyone has their own opinion. Like i've said before, I respect yours.
But now that you bring it up, I DEARLY miss Dime. He was one of the reasons I got interested in playing guitar. :) I've been a Pantera fan since I was a little kid. I never had the chance to see them live, though. :( I would have loved to. He was a huge inspiration to many that came after him. His legacy will live on.
Nobody else here would probably be interested.....well, possibly Tim(Lance Lives). I picked up Malignancy's new album today....Inhuman Grotesqueries. Man, it's really good. I know you said you've been on a stoner/doom metal kick, but if you do have the slightest interest in real complex, technical gore metal, you should check out their website. They have MP3's of some of their songs. :) http://www.malignancy.com

I'll try to check them out man. I personally don't really care about Shadows Fall at all anymore. After The Art of Balance I just stopped digging them. I saw them live recently though and they played my favorite song, Stepping Outside the Circle, so I feel like my Shadows Fall fandom has come full circle.
Of course I love Pantera, as Madman already knows. My favorite album is The Great Southern Trendkill, it's so oppressive and pissed off, but with some beautiful songs in there as well, perfect album. My second favorite is Far Beyond Driven. Throes of Rejection is so good. I hate to say it, but it really does seem kind of trendy to like Pantera now and say how bad you miss Dime, even though most of these kids were listening to Limp Biskit (sp?) or whatever when they were on their last legs.
On another note, me and my best friend got tattoos of Fluer De Lis' on our legs to celebrate our fandom of Down and the New Orleans scene as well as our 21st birthdays. DOWN for life now fellas.

That's cool, Tim. :)
I recently heard some of Dino's new band, Divine Heresy. The music is REALLY good, I think. Dino's riffs in his new band are more complex, and he even solos now! :) The drummer, Tim Yeung, is just phenomenal. I'd rank him up there with Pete Sandoval. The only problem for me is the singer. He sounds TOO much like the singer from Killswitch Engage, so that turned me off from it quickly. If they had a different singer, i'd buy the album.
I've been listening to alot of Skid Row, Black Sabbath, and the new Malignancy album lately. Did you check out the Malignancy site, Tim? What did you think?

I've come to realize the past couple of weeks thatKillers is probably my favourite Iron Maiden album, and Purgatory is definetally my favourite Iron Maiden song...and at my old age it's not common that I change favourites just like that...but I've never been a religious follower of Maiden as I've been to such bands as Judas Priest and Accept

I agree that Killers is a great album. Definitely way better than their self-titled debut, IMO. I still can't decide between The Number of the Beast and Powerslave as my all-time favorite Maiden album. So right now they are tied. :) Somewhere in Time would be my next choice.
I'm really looking forward to Sebastion Bach's new solo album. It's been quite a while since he's really released anything.
I was listening to Skid Row's Slave to the Grind album today. Man, that was a huge jump in sound. They went from being more commercial, to just straight up heavy rock/metal. I really think Subhuman Race is a very underrated album. My Enemy is a great song off that one....sounds very Pantera-esque. :D
CanadianFonzie
09-11-2007, 12:40 AM
Killers was very different from the debut, the sound was better, the singing was processed better, showing Paul to have a better voice, but the main instrumental of tehe album, Gingus-Khan (sp?), it didn't do anything for me like Transylvania did on the debut...that's the one and only flaw
I've been wondering lately how such classics as Number of the Beast, Run To the Hills, The Trooper etc. would have sounded with Paul on vocals, that's something I would have liked to hear...to bad he had to start with the alcohol and drugs that got him fired
and speaking of Somewhere in Time, I recently found out 2 weekends ago that my brother saw them on that tour, all these years and I just find out now, lol, but he says that he doesn't think Iron Maiden will ever play a show again like they did that one

About Danzig: I was just never a fan of him. I never liked him as a vocalist in The Misfits (I am a Michael Graves fan though) or by himself. I don't know why. Him and Dio (another one) just never did it for me.
About Venom: These guys are classic black metal before there was a such thing as black metal. Welcome to Hell is a great album! In the League with Satan is a must have as well.
I love Black Sabbath! I really do. The funny thing is though, I prefer Ozzy's Speak of the Devil to the old Sabbath recordings because the production is just so awesome, you wouldn't know it was live if he didn't talk to the people in between songs and it was just so heavy and awesome! I love it. I listen to it every day lately!

I don't know what to tell you about the new Iced Earth. I'd like to hear some other opinions on it. I was expecting galloping riffs and balls out speed (who could blame me, it's Iced Earth!) but it's more mid-paced stuff being played to fit along to cheesy lyrics. Right now i'm listening to Suffocation (Funeral Inception, from Despise the Sun EP). I love their 90's albums. Actually, if the Despise the Sun EP had more songs on it, I would actually cite that one as my favorite. I still like their 1991 debut the best, Effigy of the Forgotten. Brutal!

Uh, there was that Ten Thousand Strong song on the E.P. and then they re-did the Something Wicked Trilogy from SWTWC with the new band members (I didn't like it, I was too used to hearing Matt singing it), so there were 4 songs on it really.
Yeah, I've heard all of the songs from the new Down:X. I think it's really fuckin' good (of course) but as of right now I still like the other two better. Phil is singing alot more, which is good, but I still like his screams too and they were lacking. Also, alot of the lyrics are really positive which is good but I don't know how that fits in with this band. One thing that always stuck with me from back in the day is that I read an interview with Phil and said something to the effect of: "The name of this band isn't Down because we are down with heavy music, it's because we are downtrodden".

ADDED:
Tim, I think I remember you saying one time you were into Sunn O)))? I think you might dig Xasthur. The lyrics do get a bit tiring after a while, but the music is amazing. You're actually the one that's gotten me into stoner rock, lol. :) I do like Bongzilla alot. I like how they mix the Cathedral style riffing, with the guttural vocals of death metal. It's an interesting mix, but it works great. I did check out Weedeater, and I liked them. I've also heard Acid Bath, Eyehategod, Orange Goblin, and Grand Magus. So far, I think I like Bongzilla the most out of the ones i've heard.
As for Xasthur, he's a genius. Most black metal bands lyrics deal with Satanism, and anti-Christianity blasphemy. But Xasthur's lyrics are about hatred, death/suicide, hopelessness, despair, depression, etc. His music ACUTALLY evokes those feelings. Sure, those are bad feelings, and most people don't want to experience those. But the fact that he expresses it genuinely in his music is something else. He's been around for a quite a while now, and is already considered a cult act in the underground US black metal scene.

What I've heard of Orange Goblin I like, but it's not much. I was thinking of picking up their new disc, it's supposed to be good. Acid Bath rules I think. I love both of their albums, especially their slow songs like Scream of the Butterfly and Bones of Baby Dolls. And of course, EYEHATEGOD is one of my favorites. Just so pissed off with ace riffs.

I think if they had a different singer, i'd like them alot more. Same thing with Grand Magus. They're from the UK.
Have you heard of the joke band Cannabis Corpse? It's these guys from Virginia that cover CC songs, but they replace the lyrics with stuff about weed. One of the songs is called Blunted at Birth. :p They have a Myspace page, I believe. So you can check that out sometime.
Yeah, EYEHATEGOD is really good. I haven't really heard either band enough. I'll have to listen to them more to make up my mind. :) Which EYEHATEGOD album is your favorite?

Take as Needed for Pain is by far the best EYEHATEGOD album in my opinion.
Yeah, I've heard Cannabis Corpse, pretty funny stuff. I heard a song called Force Fed Shitty Grass which was funny as hell. I'd like to get their disc actually.

Thanks, Tim. :) I'll have to check out that EYEHATEGOD album.
I've been listening to alot of Blood Freak the past couple days.....mainly Multiplex Massacre. I LOVE Savage Streets. The verse riff is just awesome. And that real slow part at the end is great. The 4th BF album, Scared Stiff, is already on the Upcoming albums list on the Razorback site. Man, Maniac Neil means business. MM has only been out since......June? I'm also really looking forward to the 3rd Frightmare album. I imagine he's going to start writing for that when the 4th BF album is released.
What have you guys been playing lately? Is the new Iced Earth growing on you at all, Tim? Or is it still not that great?

I'm PRETTY sure Maniac Neil is going to start working on the 3rd Frightmare album after he releases the 4th Blood Freak album. He's already stated that a 3rd Frightmare album is in the works, so it shouldn't be too far off. :)
Wow, the other songs are better than the one's on Myspace? I was REALLY impressed with those songs, so now i'm looking forward to it even more. I'll definitely have to pick it up the next time i'm out.

I picked up the new Iced Earth CD because I was feeling impulsive I guess. I didn't bother with their last album and basically gave up on them after Horror Show. As I popped in The CD I was pleasently suprised. It has some of the trade mark Iced Earth/ Shaffer riffs, but it also offers some elements new to their music. I can't really explain it but it doesn't sound like typical Iced Earth all the time which is refreshing. The one complaint I have is Tim's vocals. I won't deny the guy oozes talent and is an amzing vocalist, but I just know I'd enjoy it more had Matt Barlow been on this record. He could hit the highs, not like Owens, but his lows were awesome which Tim can not touch.
As far as the new Down album goes. Love it. I enjoy it more the II but not as much as Nola. Nothing In Return may be my favorite Down track of all time. Phil sounds better then he has in years and it's packed with groove laden riffs.
A question for those who bought it outside North America. How is the bonus track? Is it just filler or is it worthy of being on the album?

It is generic bad rock. It is boring generic bad country themed hard rock. It is very plain and boring music with nothing to it. Phil should just face it. He is nothing without Pantera (ans vice versa).

Scorpions - Blackout

I like Screaming for Vengeance as well. Painkiller is also a great album.
Did you get the new Arch Enemy, Rich? I heard a couple of songs from it on XM Radio.......XM Radio has a metal channel! It's channel 42, XMLM. They'll play stuff from Black Sabbath, Pantera, Metallica....to Deicide, Morbid Angel, Arch Enemy, Kreator, etc.
Lately i've been listening to alot of Testament(The Legacy), Suicidal Tendencies, Necrophagia, etc. I don't even have to mention Frightmare and Blood Freak anymore. You know me, so it's basically a given, haha. :p
Rich, have you ever heard Bloodbath before? I have their Resurrection Through Carnage album. It's REALLY good. They play the old school style of death metal from the early 90's. I love it!
I never herd Bloodbath. I'll have to look into it. The new Arch Enemy is freakin awesome! It is my favorite album of the year!

That's good to hear. I'm short on cash at the moment, so I haven't been able to pick it up. :(
Mikael Akerfeldt(the vocalist from Opeth) is on that Bloodbath album I mentioned. Dan Swano is on drums. The sound of the guitars on it are just real raw! It seriously ALMOST sounds like a chainsaw. It's actually a great album to listen to in the Fall/Halloween season. It just has this real dark, dreary feel to it.
I still have to check out the new Nightwish and Iced Earth.

Screaming for Vengeance
Defenders of the Faith

Albums I usually listen to around Fall/Halloween:

The Misfits - Collection I, Collection II, Famous Monsters
Cannibal Corpse - Eaten Back To Life
Bloodbath - Resurrection Through Carnage
Grave - You'll Never See...
Death - Scream Bloody Gore, Leprosy

Yeah, I like XMLM alot too. On Oct. 12th, they started the Ultraviolence show. Every Friday, from 7-9pm EST, they play all old school thrash and death! :)
Here was Oct. 12th's playlist to give you an idea:
1. VOIVOD- RAVENOUS MEDICINE
2. KREATOR- TERRIBLE CERTAINTY
3. SEPULTURA- BENEATH THE REMAINS
4. MORBID ANGEL- UNHOLY BLASPHEMIES
5. BOLT THROWER- CENOTAPH
6. CARCASS- EXHUME TO CONSUME
7. POSSESSED- DEATH METAL
8. NAPALM DEATH- I ABSTAIN
9. EXODUS- PARASITE
10. CANNIBAL CORPSE- GUTTED
11. DEATH- ZOMBIE RITUAL
12. DRI- SUIT AND TIE GUY
13. DARK ANGEL- DARKNESS DESCENDS
14. HOLY TERROR- CHRISTIAN RESISTANCE
15. DISMEMBER- IN DEATH'S SLEEP
16. GRAVE- YOU'LL NEVER SEE
17. KATAKLYSM- THE AWAKENER
18. SACRED REICH- SURF NICARAGUA (LIVE)
19. ANTHRAX- IMITATION OF LIFE
20. OBITUARY- CHOPPED IN HALF
21. NUCLEAR ASSAULT- HANG THE POPE
That's a damned good playlist. :D

another band I've recently taken a bit of a fancy to is Disturbed

Sorry for not responding sooner. Honestly, other than the ones i've mentioned previously, I don't really know of any metal bands that have alot of samples from horror films. Also, I guess the current issue of Metal Maniacs has a 3 page interview with Blood Freak! I'm definitely going to pick that up soon.

Maniac Neil found other musicians finally, so the next BF album will have a regular lineup! They've written 8 songs already, and will begin recording late Jan-early Feb. Skindred is indeed a good band. I saw them open a show that also had Chevelle (rocked), Breaking Benjamin (sucked), and Korn (rocked the fucking house). They kicked ass and really got the crowd going.
I'm listening to the new Epica right now and liking it. My first time hearing them. Simone is fricking hot.
The new Exodus is decent, but I miss when thrash had a certain melodic side to it. Now it's just chug-chug-chug with some growls thrown in. Remember when bands would throw in really awesome melodic parts in the middle of songs?
Dethklok is the best new death metal album in a long time. They actually throw some groove and melody into the mix, which I love.
I don't have a metal album of the year yet. Does anyone have one? There's been so much good shit this year. I'm leaning towards Amorphis - Silent Waters being my number one.

I agree with you guys about the Dethklok album. It really jams!
Tim - I agree about Pantera. I really wished they would release the unreleased tracks as a CD. That would be great. :)
SoulOnFire - I do agree. I much prefer 80's-early 90's thrash....but Exodus still kick ass IMO. The new album is pretty good. After listening to Shovel Headed Kill Machine some more today, i'd actually say I prefer that one over The Atrocity Exhibition. It does have some songs that have a slight 80's vibe, such as Funeral Hymn, and Children of a Worthless God.
My favorite Exodus album is actually Fabulous Disaster. Then i'd say Bonded by Blood. Pleasures of the Flesh is pretty underrated IMO. It has one of my favorite songs by them...Parasite

God, I need some new music to listen to. Ever feel like you don't have anything to rock? I doubt you do Madman because it would seem you have a limitless amount of cds. I just have trouble buying music because I'm always afraid it's not gonna be any good.

Are there any bands you haven't heard that you're curious about? I can try to help out. :) I used to feel like that when I didn't own as many CD's. But now I always have something to rock.
I've been rocking Exhorder all day. I love both albums, but I slightly prefer The Law over Slaughter in the Vatican. I really like their cover of Black Sabbath's Into the Void. (Cadence) of the Dirge is a badass song too. All of them are really, IMO.

I'm interested in Razorback stuff. Have you rocked that Bile band? I remember hearing some of their stuff back in the day and it was brutal. They have an album based on Friday the 13th (Camp Blood) and one based on Texas Chainsaw Massacre (The Shed).

Well, here's some links to other Razorback band Myspace pages, if you're interested.
Lord Gore (http://www.myspace.com/lordgoreofficial) - Maniac Neil played guitar on their Resickened album. :)
Fondlecorpse (http://www.myspace.com/fondlecorpse)
Engorged (http://www.myspace.com/engorged)
Crypticus (http://www.myspace.com/crypticus)
Ghoul (http://www.myspace.com/creepsylvania)
Gruesome Stuff Relish (http://www.myspace.com/gruesomestuff)
Impetigo (http://www.myspace.com/impetigo)
Check out these Myspace links I posted a couple pages back. I think besides Frightmare and Blood Freak, that these are the better bands on Razorback Records. I know they each have some fan Myspace pages too, so there should be enough for you to hear if you ever want to buy any CD's.
Let me know what you think of any of them.

Thanks dude, for the effort, but unless I get to a computer with faster internet I'm basically stranded on listening to internet music. I suppose when I get more money and I'm gonna buy some new cds I'll probably buy the Blood Freak cds I don't have yet first.

I've seen footage of Lord Gore in concert. The quality of the video was pretty bad, but it seemed like it was a good show. I saw it on Youtube a while back.
Oh, I just remembered. Another sample heavy band I know of is Catasexual Urge Motivation. They have a CD on Razorback. It's called Nekronicle. I bought it a while back at this Metal CD store in Chicago. :) They're from Japan. They play the sickest, most twisted gore grind ever. :D But I honestly don't think i'd recommend them. I've only listened to the whole thing 1 time. But if you're really into sick gore grind, it's worth to listen to at least once.
ADDED:
Razorback Records signed a new band called Hooded Menace. They're pretty good. They're a doom/death metal band from Finland. I think you'd dig them. They have a couple of tracks on their Myspace page. You should check it out: http://www.myspace.com/hoodedmenace
I'd also recommend Mausoleum....another Razorback band. They're a doom/death/grind band too. They have a new album coming out. From what i've heard, the new album is going to be their best material IMO. http://www.myspace.com/mausoleumpa

Tim - Have you heard any of Maniac Neil's other projects: Maniac Killer, Whore, Fornicator?
I mentioned the band Catasexual Urge Motivation before. Although they're quite different, if you like Maniac Killer you'd probably like C.U.M.
http://www.myspace.com/maniacneil - If you've seen the movie Motel Hell, you'll recognize the pic on the page. :)
I've always liked real sick, twisted gore grind like CUM, Meatshits, and Disgorge(Mexico)

Huge news from the Iced Earth camp. Matt Barlow is back in the band. I don't have a link to the story, but if you visit Blabbermouth you'll find an article there with a statement from Jon. No reason was given for Ripper's dismissal. As much as it sucks for Ripper to be ousted, it's going to be great to hear Matt back in the band.

okay I'm finally gonna say this, after reading so many articles about him on Blabbermouth.net...Phil Anselmo has to control his ego
Lance Lives
12-15-2007, 06:18 AM
If anybody has the right to have a big ego, it's Phil. I realize that he's a control freak and thinks alot of himself, but fuck it, I dig just about everything he's ever done so I think alot of him too. I've met him twice and he was nice as fuck both times so I have absolutely nothing but good stuff to say about him. Second time I met him he struck up a conversation about my horror patches and just talked to me about Evil Dead like any ol' Joe.

well as I said, I was just judging by what he says on Blabbermouth.net, I wouldn't know what he's like in person cause I have no intentions of ever meeting him, though I did see Down live last March...I know his ego isn't anywhere near as bad as George Lynch's

I'm really glad that Matt is gonna be back with Barlow. It just goes to show you that John really doesn't know what he's doing, he claimed that Ripper was the future of the band and now just because fans were telling him what was up he owned Ripper and brought Barlow back. No complaints though, I far prefer Matt. It's just a shame that his "epic" is gonna be tainted by having two different vocalist on two different parts. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he re-recorded it with Barlow.

I agree. I've always been a huge fan of Phil since I was a little kid. He's one of my idols. He does seem like he'd be real nice in person. That's cool how he talked about horror films with you. I know in the Superjoint Ritual CD, in the thanks list, he referrenced Evil Dead. He also mentioned Cannibal Holocaust in the 3 Watch it Go Video.
Tim - Frightmare are on hold right now! Neil really wants to concentrate on Blood Freak at the moment. When they're done recording the new album, he wants to do tours. So we won't be hearing that new Frightmare album for awhile. They aren't dead. Neil and Dave both stated that they DO want to continue Frightmare.
I've been listening to Down II and III alot lately. After listening to them both thoroughly back to back, i'd say that Down II is the better album. Landing on the Mountains of Megiddo is starting to become one of my all time favorites.
Lance Lives
12-24-2007, 06:02 AM
That sucks about Frightmare, but maybe Blood Freak will come somewhere close and I could see them (HIGHLY doubt it).
I agree Megiddo is a great track, it's got Phil's ex wife Opal on it. She had an acoustic cd under the name Southern Isolation and I really quite enjoyed it. She also did keyboards for Necrophagia when Phil was in the band and was in Viking Crown too. II is by far the better disc, but hey, that's just opinion!
P.S. Great to see you back Madman, I was missin' ya dude!
MaDMaNMaRz
12-24-2007, 06:08 AM
I'd love to see Blood Freak in concert.
Yeah, I remember she did the keyboards for Necrophagia and Viking Crown. The keyboards for Necrophagia's Cannibal Holocaust is awesome. I actually like Viking Crown, from the stuff i've heard from them. I like that real raw, primitive black metal......stuff like Darkthrone.
I do definitley think Down II is better than III. Not to say III is bad, because it's a badass album. Nola will always be their best IMO. There's an article with Down in the new Metal Maniacs (the one with Electric Wizard on the cover). Pepper was saying that they will probably release a DVD! I'm looking forward to that. That issue also has the interview with Neil Smith
It's cool that you're going to get the first 2 Blood Freak CD's. Let me know what you think of them
Lance Lives
12-24-2007, 06:28 AM
Yeah, I really wish I could get that issue. At least 3 great bands prominantly covered. I've heard that the new Electric Wizard is a return to form and as good as their immortal Dopethrone (I'll believe it when I hear it).
Yeah, Down are supposed to be working on a feature length dvd in the vain of movies like The Song Remains the Same (their words not mine) which will document their first tour this go round which was to England I think. They had some footage from that tour included in their video they show before the concert. I look forward to it. I hope they release a straight up concert dvd too.

From what i've heard, Witchcult Today is supposed to be really good. I've heard the song they posted on their Myspace. I liked it alot. I don't actually own any Electric Wizard albums, unfortunately. :( I have heard songs off of Come My Fanatics and Dopethrone. Dopethrone is heavy as fuck.
The new issue is pretty good. There's this one band they interviewed in there called Portal. I want to check them out. I guess they're a mix of old Immolation, Incantation, and even Demilich! But they also have their own unique touch. I really want to hear some of their stuff.
ADDED:
Damn! Portal is great!. They're a pretty sludgy, doom death metal band. I HAVE to get the new CD. Here's the link, Tim. I think you'd dig them.

Tim - Are you into the 80's style Italian zombie film soundtracks? You should check out the Anima Morte Myspace Page. Their songs like they could fit in a Lucio Fulci film. I just ordered there CD off of Razorback a few minutes ago. I can't wait to get it!

They just added a new track on there, Devoid of a Soul. Around 3:00 in to it or so, there's this really cool guitar melody. That and The Graveyard Plagues are my favorites. I can't wait to hear all of their songs. I'll let you know how it is when I get the CD.

Hey Madman, you got that Metal Maniacs with the Neil interview right? I remember when I was trying to read it real quick in the bookstore that he mentioned having an eBay store, can you tell me what the name is?
MaDMaNMaRz
01-02-2008, 01:10 AM
Tim - It's called Undead DVD.
I actually don't remember who made those Frightmare videos.
That Metal Maniacs was a really good issue. That Blood Freak interview with Neil was really cool. I remember there was an issue of that when he released Bringing Back The Bloodshed, but it was alot smaller of an article.
I'm also finding that alot of places aren't carrying Pit Magazine anymore. :( That's actually how I discovered Razorback Records back in 2003! They had an article that showed Frightmare's Midnight Murder Mania, Catasexual Urge Motivation, Machetazo, and The County Medical Examiners. The descriptions really caught my attention, especially for Frightmare.....Slalk n' Slash grind. :D It had Ministry on the cover. I still actually look through it to this day, lol. It's sort of nostalgic for me.

Tim - Have you ever heard Gorguts before? Their first 2 albums, Considered Dead and The Erosion of Sanity are amazing. They're both great, but I think The Erosion of Sanity is the better of the 2. You should check out some songs by them online. I think you'd dig them. They're one of my all-time favorite old school death metal bands.
I'd definitely put The Erosion of Sanity in my top 10 list of favorite death metal albums. Considered Dead was relatively straightforward compared to the 2nd one. It takes a few listens to REALLY get into it, because there is alot thrown at you. But once you really get into it, you really appreciate it. It's a masterpiece!
I got the new Aeon album yesterday, Rise to Dominate. It's pretty good. It sounds like a mix of George Fisher era Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, and early Morbid Angel.

That sounds like a good mix to me Mike...I swear if I had fast internet you would keep me up to date on tunes but I can't hardly EVER get a chance to listen to these fellas. Even my new job has dail-up internet so I'm screwed there too. I did spend most of today searching for OOP VHS on Ebay while getting paid though, so that's cool.
Also, I was watching some of my Seinfeld DVDs last night and George's girlfriend's father said Impetigo and boy had I been saying it wrong. I still need to check those guys out because everybody is claiming 'em for inspiration.
MaDMaNMaRz

I like Impetigo. They're often cited as the godfathers of gore. While I like them, I personally think Carcass are better.
I sent you a PM of some slasher recommendations. So if you check any of them out, let me know what you think. :)
What would be your Top 10 death metal album list, Tim?
Mine can change from time to time. My current Top 10, in no particular order. Gorguts, Death, and Suffocation are always on my list. :):
1. Gorguts - The Erosion of Sanity
2. Death - Leprosy
3. Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten
4. Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
5. Grave - You'll Never See...
6. Cannibal Corpse - Tomb of the Mutilated
7. Immolation - Dawn of Possession
8. Cynic - Focus
9. Malevolent Creation - Retribution
10. Obituary - Cause of Death

Cool.
Yeah bro, Gorguts has been one of my favorite death metal bands for a LONG time. They were in a class of their own on The Erosion of Sanity. Considered Dead is great too. Luc Lemay is a great vocalist and guitar player.
I think you'd dig them. The song Condemned to Obscurity has this awesome, very haunting sounding piano intro. The riffs are badass in that song too.
Here's the cover for it, which is a Dan Seagrave cover. :)
