Neca has decided to purchase licensing rights to do a TMNT line. Series 1 will be figures FROM THE COMICS! It will of course be of the 4 turtles (there are only 4 in the first series) and they will look like they did in the first issue of Mirage's TMNT that Eastman and Laird drew.

I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I think these figures look fuckin' amazing and I nearly wet myself when I saw this figure. I've been watching the progress for a while now through the TMNT forum I frequent and www.ninjaturtles.com. I figured I would see what you all thought about them because I'm exstatic. If the line does well - They're looking to do replicas of the old toon, new toon, movie and MASS villians.

Whoa. Sign me up for all four turtles. It'll be a nice little tribute to the dozens of figures I used to have as a kid that I didn't hold on to. I still have a box full under the house, but it's only a fraction of what I once had.

They look pretty dope, but did that have to make the neck so realistic? I'd feel like I'm playing with a 70 year old man's penis shaft.

The original neck was a thin piece of plastic and Laird sent the prototype back to NECA telling them they need to make it 20% bigger and more like it should be in the comics. The outcome was the neck you see above.

Just to resurrect this, they have released pictures of all 4 turtles. They will each come individually packaged with a mini-turtle, interchangable hands, and a canister of Ooze as well as their individulaized weapons (duh) and a few other possible accessories. I will post pictures of it later tonight. (Special thanks to Murphy for allowing me to "steal" these photos!)

Holy shit. How rare with the variants be? Hopefully they won't be case figures and will be somewhat evenly packed. I might just skip the color versions and get the black and white only, though I'd love to get them all.

The Variants won't be rare at all. Look for them to be in the second wave of figures along with April, a Foot Soldier and either one more additional figure (rumor = Shredder) or look for it to be 2 b&w variants. They're not due out until later this year, but the color figures are due out any day.

So after NOT buying these I find out 2 major things:

A) These figures are NECA's hottest selling line right now. They're sold out just about everywhere and they're going to rerelease the figures soon.
B) Because they're so hot - they're going to release a 3 pack Mouser Variant that wasn't originally supposed to be in with it.

So I lied - the mousers are only available at the San Diego Comic con. They come with a display and a manhole cover that says San Diego on it. Those are going to be HUGE on Ebay once they come home with people.

Show, I won't be going to Comic Con however if you want Peter Laird's auto he signs through the mail.

He signed a photo from TMNT for me. He even drew a ninja turtle sketch with his signature.

I appreciate that, but I just ordered TMNT Volume 4 #29 and he did the first 300 issues with a signature and a sketch in the back page of the book. Totally worth it before I found out he was doing the sketch. I have his and Kevin Eastman's autographs now. :) My life is complete somehow.
